View Full Version : Strange issue with the server or client stopping responding.

Vista fully patched 2 gigs of ram and plenty of hard drive space.Patched to the latest video and sound drivers.Issue occurs on multiple accounts.Did a full file scan on eq2.The issue:After logging in and trying to play for a few minutes, I no longer see any text that is being typed, nor can I interact with anything in the world.   /camp does not work, but you do see the character kneel down.  /exit does work.The odd part is that people can still see what I type but I can't see what I type.The only thing I do see is people logging in and out of voice chat.Any suggestions on how I can get this fixed?

Oh, yes, I've tried setting eq2 to windows xp compatibility mode with no change as well.

Are you connecting with a router? If so, can you bypass it and conenct directly to the modem?What modem/router make model do you have?Firmware version?Even trying a power-cycle (unplug the power and replug after 30 seconds) could resolve this.Sorry about the moving posts.  I should be done with the whole thing soon <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

I never thought about the router.  It's actually a friend that's having the problem so I'll go over there and give it a shot.He has a linksys, but I don't know the model or firmware. Thanks for the reply!

I can play on Crushbone just fine, but after a few seconds or minutes on AB I lose interactivity.</p><p>It's happened a few times before, once affecting my CB chars. I have Windows XP and have not installed anything new. I do not have a router.
