VP pattern links causing crash

So if you click on a link to VP armor patterns, and then close them, it results in a crash.  This has been plaguing the game since the LU, any ETA on a fix?  I have submitted a bug report but this strikes me as a pretty serious issue.  To make matters worse, people are being jerks and disguising the links as other items to cause crashes.  Please fix ASAP.

not a technical issue, plus other threads open on issue.closed.
