If you had to rank the scouts in terms of pure DPS, forget utility, forget anything else, just straight out pure dps, which order would they rank? I'm looking for an average equipped grouping scout, not a raid equipped or even legendary equipped scout. So with average equipment. I realize this can be situational.I'm not looking for soloability in this case either, just a regular grouping (small group) scout.Feel free to point me to a thread with appropriate info, I looked but didn't quite see what I'm looking for.For the most part these discussions always revolve around raid equipped/high end equipped characters.

In general terms, an assassin is the highest DPS scout when grouping. A ranger would come in second. Third place is a toss up between swashbuckler and brigand. If you're fighting single targets, then I'd say brigand. But if you're fighting multiple targets or group encounters, then the swashbuckler would be higher. I'm not really sure which bard class would rank fifth, but my gut reaction is dirge.

Please note that these comments are based on my own personal playing experiences and observations. Also I'm basing this on a full group set up because soloing is another matter.

depends on group dps or solo dps.

assassin are great group dps but they have a lot of problems soloing because of their attacks. especially groups. I remember my assass had 2 AE, both were in sneak mode.

swash and brig are great in group and solo. would dps less, but in a short fight it's depends which attacks are up . and they solo a lot better because they have more stuns. plus the brig debuffs defense, so it helps for its own dps.

troub and dirge are last. but the troub improves more mages and dirge melees. so the dirge will usually benefit more form his buffs than the troub.

I don't know much rangers but as assassin their dps is situationnal and solo they must be kitting which is sometimes hard. If they can kitte, they can do great dps soloing. On group they must be a bit behind assassin.

so group dps : assassin, ranger, swash, brig, dirge, troub

By dps potential:assassinrangerbrigswashtroubdirgeoddly enough, you can just about invert that list exactly in terms of useful debuffs.
