Try removing the exceptions for eq2 from your firewall, then add them again... Also cycle your modem/router (unplug for @ 20 seconds). If that doesnt work, perhaps posting the info suggested *** Read before posting *** for your issue may help the techies see if there is another problem...

If all else fails, power-cycle the modem.

Did you do what was suggested to the other poster?

Thanks for the answers

Yes and I did shut down all other software that do anything with the network and I have done a complete reinstall of Station Launcher as well.

The only thing that does not work is Station Launcher trying to scan the designated folder for EQ2 when in GB-English mode. All other games and the US-English mode for EQ2 works fine.

The updated client runs fine on the US servers.

Trying a clean install of EQ2 in GB-english mode gives the same answer-"an unknown error has occurred".

I have exactly the same problem. Can you expand on "the usual Vista-tweaking/begging/kicking" you did???

I downloaded the client from the site TrevorG posted.

After installation and first run of that patcher you have to close it and go into compatability and set the actual executive file to run as "Administrator" and then run it from the shortcut by right-clicking and use the option "run as administrator".

Then as you enter you choose English(EU) as language and it restarts and start patching(15 min patch for me).

Then I was back online.

Thanks Drac. AFter trying the suggestions above, I ended up getting running again by checking the update log and noting that it "couldn't determine size" of one of the files in my EQ directory. So I just deleted that file and ran again. This time it re-downloaded that file and all went well. Must have been corrupted some how. Anyway, alls well that ends well!
