Just started transmuting on an alt, and I was wondering if it is intentional that Mastercrafted equipment transmutes as if it were Treasured, but mastercrafted spells transmute as if they were Legendary.

Having talked to folks, they all say it's always been like that, but is that how it's supposed to be? I know it's a legacy system from before Domino's time, but was this aspect ever decribed as intended?

It seems to me to heavily favor scholars without any obvious rhyme or reason. Is it somehow imbalancing for a woodworker to be able to work transmuting on the products of their craft? It seems a little unfair that scholars get both a legendary item and a highly valued byproduct(dust) for their rare, where the rest of us just get a treasured item.

Thanks in advance for any insight or consideration

I beleive it was explained that the reason is "used" mastercrated items can be transmuted whereas "used" spells are gone once they are scribed. The total "value" of an item is (use + transmute product) but a spell is either use or transmute product
