Charm is very short duration, it can be useful for charm pulling or getting something moved long enough to harvest a shiny. I've found its combat utility almost non-existant. Mezz on the other hand can be very useful, though it is only single target. It's fairly easy to keep an add mezzed if the group will let you (they just love their AoEs...)2. At level 80 in legendary/treasured gear, probably hovering around 1k. Once you're decently raid geared and in a good group, 2-2.5k would be respectable. On linked encounters when you can hit everything with PotM, you can spike the DPS quite high. On the whole however, if you base your enjoyment on how high you are on the parse, prepare to be disappointed. The people in your group will be high on the parse though, if you can't put your mages in the top five you should hang your head in shame.3. Kiting is simple, mez, debuff, snare, back away with the bow firing and spells slinging. You need a bit of room and the ability to avoid running into aggro of course. Kiting doesn't take that much more time than melee, but some people enjoy it more than others.4. I soloed to 80 with a Troub first and I didn't mind it, though after doing the same with a few alts I could see how much harder it was. RoK was a bit of a stumbling block, I couldn't really solo there until 72 and the T8 mastercrafted gear, whereas my wizard was cutting through there starting at 65. On the whole however, it didn't really take significantly less time to level with the Troubador. The only real information you need is: are you having fun? Troubadors are highly prized in the raiding end game but some people do get discouraged on the road to 80, especially if they've leveled faster classes before.

I agree with everythign Scarry said, though i cannot attest to Charm... have never used it.

The mez does work great and if you are lacking a mezzer in the group and everyone is careful you can hold the add till its his time to die.

I hit a wall soloing my troub to 80 right abou lvl 52 or so, and it did not get easy again till I hit 72 and got new gear.

As for Kiting I wish i had known about it much earlier.... I did not kite my first mob til about 73. Thanks to another troub for showing me how... It prob woudl have made those levels where i hit the wall easier if i had known.

As for DPS, you are not the main DPS, but you will make everyone elses DPS way better... so i consider that part of my DPS. I am doin about 1-1.2k in good groups, but you can really buff the rest of the DPS up with Jcap and such.

Everyone loves a Troub in their group wether they are willin to admit it in 70-79 chat or not
