View Full Version : Holding Aggro Through Proc Heals

you know I am not even really sure if I would want to do this, I am pretty much specced to do a lot of damage to hold aggro, balancing with survivability. SO i have been looking for +crit, +DA etc gear, also have a few nice + hate items.

Has anybody built a zerker around using proc heal items to retain aggro. I could see it being useful for those times when maybe you have a less than desirable templar in your pocket...

If you have, what are the items you would recommend using?

Proc heal items to solo with maybe, but as a means to hold aggro in groups? no.

Simple solution....don't group with rubbish healers

far as i know, proccing heal items generate no aggro. proccing hate items generally don't generate enough aggro to be worth the slot, say for example an item procs 500 hate and procs 1.8 times per minute, that's 17 hate per second, not much but damage proc items are hard to find and don't do much more. now compare 17 hate per second vs a 2 crit ring with +50CA, that will generally do about 50-75 more DPS, 4 times what the hate proc item did.

so, the point is continue to focus on balancing your offensive and defensive around the dps gear(in order for me i use: DA/dps mod/crit/+CA/haste).

yes, healers can generate tons of hate especially if they DPS and heal at the same time. difference is they are casting and those casts are coming from a target and have a proximity aggro, proc items don't necessarily have that.

Furies are the ones that [Removed for Content] me off the most. Agro central when they nuke and heal. A well geared fury can give the MT a hard time if they dont know how to play their class properly.

As far as heal procs go..... no way. Damage procs maybe.

if your healers are really giving you a hard time, look for warding gear. unfortunately most of the ward gear available to us isn't worth a [Removed for Content] until the very end game drops off of contested and more difficult mobs in SoH.

unfortunately the healers are more of a key to success than we are as tanks, especially in this expansion. if your healers are poor, you won't be going very far.

interesting that heal gear procs don't generate hate...

the good news is my guilides are back form their vacations, no more pick-up healers till the holidays...
