Valid questions both of them, I just want to know I guess how many more months i'm going to waste 3 bucks a month for a service that is outdated and doesn't work all the time. That 3 bucks doesn't sound like much, but it adds up, that's 3 bucks that could have gone into my gas tank.

Why care about something you know someone else will be taking over?

I seriously doubt SOE would be willing to give up the money they are <strike>siphoning</strike> receiving from EQ2Players.  My guess is that they will just provide the game data to Zam and treat it as a seperate service.Of course, if they do that, I will be utterly disgusted.I would prefer to see them work into the deal that access to the Zam content is allowed for current subscribers to the EQ2Players bundle.  I just think they will take the easy way out.  That way they can continue to charge for a service they are no longer properly updating while they make more on the side from Zam.I know this is slightly more negative than my usual outlook on EQ2Players, but I'm a little upset that we have had so little support here, despite all the work put into this part of the community by many here, while SOE has gone and added features to a fansite collaberation that should have been given to the site that their paying community has been supporting.Don't get me wrong.  I'm glad to see these features being made available.  I just feel like SOE is neglecting its community in order to make another buck.

I might be wrong, but from what my understanding is:EQ2Players: provide data and stats about charactersZam: provide data and stats about quests, items and mobs.  And some added services (such as that broker thing). So I doubt EQ2Players is going to be replaced by the new Zam service, unless that's part of some unannounced plan.  No idea however about the few redundant services there such as the Advanced Item Database from EQ2Players.In the mean time, Grue and I are going to dig into our respective garages and retrieve our crash helmets that we wore during the RoK EQ2players "update".

<p>I don't think a mere helmet will suffice. </p><p>What with the real estate slump, I'm hoping to pick up a deal on one of those Y2K shelters that folks built for the last apocalypse. <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/2786c5c8e1a8be796fb2f726cca5a0fe.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" /></p>

<p>These ARE valid questions and great if ZAM is going to wave their magic wand to fix these issues. </p><p>However.....</p><p>What's been the excuse for the last 4 years?</p>

If they had, I'd suspect it'd go something like: <i>"We're making money, we don't see a problem with this."</i></p><p>Fraud?
