Jusy as it says. I deleted my old swashy and rolling a new one for a variety of reasons. mainly im altoholic. but anyway. Have looked over alot of the posts both here and eq2flames. most of em seem to recommend one-hand aa's. What would be a doable dual wield AA setup. Is there anything that brings me to even close to the dps a 1hander? For roleplay reasons i want to do dual wield . Thru whole life ill be using MC or quested stuff. prob going to use 1 wep slash and 1 wep pierce btw, at least til i get raid levels and can get better than mc stuff.

Anything that says that 1h is a viable aa setup at end-game is obsolete.

I agree with Rippitt that dual-wield is a must in end game play. But while leveling up, single wield style is very effective. If I were going to play a dual-wield only swashy all the way up, I would do something like the following:I recommend to place the points in the following order:(1) 1 point in pick pocket(5) 4 points in agility(6) 1 point in walk the plank(10) 4 points in strength(14) 4 points in torporous strike(22) 8 points in blackguard's defense(25) 3 more points in torporous strike(29) 4 points in blackguard's luck(31) 2 points in traumatic swipe(38) 7 more points in walk the plank(42) 4 points in agl run speed thing(48) 6 points in avast ye(50) 2 points in sailwindWhen you hit 70 respec with one of the max-dps type setups, taking 20 points from the swashy line to go ahead and fill out the rogue line.

An advantage of this order is to get the two best damage-avoiding skills for a dual-wielder early: 8 points in defense, and Walk the Plank.

An extra ~7% crit chance by moving 4 points from defense to melee crit is going to do very little in killing a single mob faster. So if you find you have to wait for health to come back often, then do defense not melee crit.

Having an extra ~5% in melee crit (3 points) instead of adding more damage to torporous strike might be better. Do it either way. I personally prefer the guaranteed large boost to damage for an ability used every 30 seconds for 40+ levels. I might even put the 8th point in torporaous strike instead of the 8th point in defense. Hover over the icon to see exactly how much is added for that last point.

Sailwind is great, but not great enough to take until after all the really nice strength line abilities are claimed. Run speed and avast ye will not help you kill anything solo. If you group almost exclusively, then adding avast ye (and sailwind) earlier might make sense.

Nothing in the Intelligence line is all that valuable for a solo'er except feign death. Until you are 70, I just can not see it being viable, though there are some who claim that FD let them complete quests or get to named mobs you can not do without it. I had no trouble getting to 99.9% of the places I wanted to go without it. At end game no swashy uses FD; you would give up way too much DPS.

Some claim boot dagger lets you extend a stun-lock on a mob. It does, but only very minor amount... and depends on an ability with a 1 minute timer. A couple seconds extra stun-lock once every minute, is not worth the five points to get boot dagger. You would also have to give up either sailwind (not worth that!) or traumatic swipe.

But.... I still think while leveling up that fencer is the way to go for a number of reasons.

There was a long period when 1h was the way to go. However the big weapon change which made all 1h weapons dual weild brought both options roughly in line with eachother. Both are still viable, but if you want that extra parse-maxing edge you'll currently get that from dual-weapons.Keeping up both piercing and slashing skills is a good plan while leveling up, but eventually you'll want to pick one or the other so you can start getting gear with +slashing or +piercing to help you hit those high level enemies. At lower levels, agi line is your best friend. Higher levels str will be a bit more valuable, but by that time you should be able to afford both. If you can spare an extra 5 AA, Boot dagger is well worth the price; but don't go any farther in the int line.
