Everquest II LaunchPad Crashes Upon Load

I'm running a Sony Vaio 1.83ghz w/ 4ghz of ram and I cannot manage to load EQII properly. I have had minimal luck in the fact that I was able to get the files completely updated. After that, I cannot load the launchpad without it crashing out within moments. Does anyone know what the problem might be?????????
