View Full Version : What happened to my BP???
PRALL

Ok... this is a before and after look at my BP. This is the polished parade plate armor that I spent status points on! Instead of matching and looking kick-butt like on the left, it now has this [Removed for Content] Aztec sun on a plain look that isn't even the same metal, color, or level of polish....

Can I get it fixed please? As you see in the picture, I have already sent feedback.

You know I ahve never seen this graphic before... I think this might be an accidental slip of a texture that wasn't supposed to be seen. All the parade armor I've seen have had the same look to it, so this is news to me!

I've never seen that graphic either, and I see a lot of armor across all my characters. I know that crafted armor is getting new looks, which has me ina panic trying to figure out if the new looks will be retroactive or not. (I hope they won't be retroactive.) I wonder if this slip up is related to that somehow? <goes off to check her inquisitor's armor>

Sutures, I tried each race, male & female, SOGA & non-SOGA. This is a graphical issue unique to male dwarf SOGA models. Male dwarf original models were fine, as were female dwarf models in both original and SOGA.

Here's what you need to do. type "/bug" and fill out a bug report. What you filled out was /feedback, and it's not the same thing. You'll file this under "Cosmetic" and "Always happens." Explain that this occurs only with the male dwarf SOGA models. Once the bug report is filled out, then the devs will know it needs to be fixed. Using the proper tools to report problems will go a very long way towards fixing them.

That kinda looks like the new parade armor you can buy with station cash.

http://eq2players.station.sony.com/...ws&locale=en_US

AS SOON as I saw the pictures of the new SC items, I immediately thought of this thread. I'm not surprised that others did too!

So instead of fixing the BP, they added it as a 'feature' for people willing to shell out the cash.

After all, why would you bother creating armor for all races (something which we're constantly told is a lot of work) if it's only going to be worn by a human npc...

That does not work with PCs cause we want the ablity to mix and match our armor looks...atleast alot of people do.

The armor that player race npcs wear is the same exact armor that players wear. Each piece of armor is also made for every race, not just if they are having one npc wear it.

Generally speaking, the really unique "armors" like the vampire armors, tunarian armor, d'leres armor, etc. are part of the mobs model though, much like the orcs and the aformentioned reequiping of the old world orcs (replacing them with newer models that had the armor built in).

Interestingly enough however, recent, newer models have been going back to the old strategy of having removeable armor. Good examples of this are the voidmen, varsoon, etc. The difference now however is that all these models are setup with unique armors (called npc_accessories) and are all in instances, so the strain on the processer isn't as intense. Also, they have begun creating several models that have the same bodies as PC races, so they can wear player armor. Races like the Thullosians, fire/ice ogres, fire cyclopses, new zombie humans/trolls/frogloks, etc. all fall into this category.

On a side note, in response to the comment on SoE "holding back" models. SoE always pushes out models for everything months before they are actually used. I was finding tSO models as far back as May of 2008 (which is documented here on these forums). What they did with the new parade bp is nothing unusual. In addition to that, the bp was actually worn by several NPCs prior to it being available in SC. There was no subterfuge there.
