How come I have Beta over my avatar? Does that mean that i got lucky and got into beta?

The basic titles have to do with how long you have been active on the forums is all... nothing else... There are some people that have special titles though (if they run a fansite) or a few other various ones....

So yeah, I just tested with my 2 accounts. The one with a 'beta' title can see the beta forums, the one without can not.If this means one of them is in beta and one is not, or if it was just a snafu in access writes, I can't actually say...

Have they even announced the beginning date of beta testing yet? I looked around and couldn't find any info.

This has been a test of the emergency beta tease system.Had this been an actual beta test, you would have received instructions via email. You may now return to your regularly scheduled pretending to work activities. This was only a test.

If your email address is wrong I would contact a CM via PM and see if they can send the email again, once you fix the address... also I think you need to Opt into the promo stuff from EQ2 but I am not shure about that part.

Hopefully this year people participating in Beta will actually "beta" the product instead of using it as an opportunity to note all the Disco. And, then come running to the forums to complain when all kinds of things are broken because it wasn't caught in beta.

Very few people play on Test to actually.. well.. Test. Only a handful login to test to provide feedback. And, that's not nearly enough to catch all the bugs before it hits the live servers.Same thing as far as beta goes. For most people it merely a chance at a sneak peek at all the new content and perhaps an edge up on everyone else once it goes live.As I said during the last beta.. there should be a quota for feedback. Submit two reports for every 2 hours played in beta. Miss that quota.. you're out and an invite is generated and sent out to the next person on the list that missed the original cut.

Only now SOE has thousands more reports to file through with the same amount of people to do it? The plan is not flawed at all i swear.

Neither of these two situations assures that someone is going to be a good beta tester.Frankly, having been in the previous betas, I would find merit in your feedback idea. I might extend the time a little. Sometimes it takes going down a quest line for a little longer before you find a bug. Or I might make it X number in a play session. And maybe not out, but a kind of tick is put down and if you get enough ticks over a given number of play sessions, *then* you're out. I didn't always have two things to feedback in 2 hours, since some of it was spent wandering around trying to figure the quest out before I got to where the issue was. Plus one time missing your reports could be a freak occurrence type of thing. But the same behavior over a period of times would be a good indicator that you're not really there to test things out.

i'd rather they actively seek people willing to do the beta with proper intentions on testing the content and giving feedback than using it as a way to generate more income by selling invites...

My best friend is an active EQ1 player. He attended Fan Faire. He *never* plays EQ2. How is that going to make him any sort of good tester?

That said I did not say this would produce good or bad testers, all I said is as far as I know there will be no "Buy In" testers.

My friend has All Access. He has an "active" account with many games he doesn't play. If an SWG player has All Access, does that mean they're going to be in any position to test EQ2? And what would attending a multigame convention for the game you play and other games you don't, and being invited to the beta for the games you don't actively play be called except "buying in" to beta for a game you know nothing about?

They did not profit off of Fan Faire, heck after the free game discount the attendee's paid $9 each for the All Access Pass.BTW being a Station All Access Member does not give you access to all the games, unless you have previously bought the game, and applied it to your All Access Acount. As for what it would be called... SWAG is what it's called. Fan conferance attendee's always tend to get beta's and such as they tend to be some of the most dedicated members of the community, and as such are rewarded with BETA access. All Fan Faire Attendee's get BETA access toTSO, EQ1:SoD, FreeRelms and SWG:TCGLast year they got BETA to:RoK, EQ1:SoF, PotBS. and LoN, possably even G&H befor it went belly-up.

When I started SWG after it was added to All Access, I didn't have to set up an account. It was already flagged on my main account and once I had bought the game, I was able to just log in and play it. Plus taking a look at my account info, with All Access I'm listed as Active for EQ1, EQ1 Mac Edition, EQ2, EQOA, Pirates of the Burning Seas, PlanetSide, Star Wars Galaxies, The Matrix Online and Vanguard. I've bought and installed software only for EQ1 PC edition, EQ2 and SWG.
