What are the /commands for
display -> performance -> graphic resolution

display -> performance -> light resolution

display -> performance -> rendering distance

display -> performance -> complex shader distance ?

In the gameplay/interface/... sub thread nobody wants to answer.

Btw: all /commands should be included in the mouse-over hints in menu options.

You can find all commands by typing in the first bit and then hitting TAB. This will display all commands.IE/guild {TAB}will display all guild commands.

I know the tab completion. But it does not help me.

When I enter e.g. "/cl + tab" or "/r + tab" then I cannot see which command is responsible for e.g. graphic resolution.

I can only guess and try which ones might the right commands, though I don't know if the current completion list includes the desired commands at all.

So I have the possibility to try 24 completions from a-z, which all result in a more or less longer list, and test all commands that MIGHT be the right ones (guessing by name) OR a knowing person, such as a tech moderator, could just tell me those commands please?

I do not have such a list handy, but I will see if there is one around here.

That would be nice.

I've also googled for a complete list of EQ2 commands and searched those big/complete(?) lists for phrases like "res", "resolution", "shad" etc. No success so far. Either no list includes the commands I am looking for or they are not meant for the public or the commands being responsible for my desired settings are too cryptic to identify them.

Neither in this nor in other sub forums. Are there /commands for those settings at all? Completing /commands with tab does not help. I also can't find any answer by googling and search for and in EQ2 command lists.

Have seen this post and try the commands? Did a quick search, and not in game to test for you, worth a shot.http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...?topic_id=36279posted by xibxangAfter a bit of nosing around, I can now reveal the answers to the above questions. SMILEY
To change graphical settings on the fly*:

r_performance 0 : Extreme Performancer_performance 1 : Very High Qualityr_performance 2 : High Qualityr_performance 3 : Balancedr_performance 4 : High Performancer_performance 5 : Very High Performancer_performance 6 : Extreme Performance

To adjust complex shader distance*:

r_fast_layer_min_distance -1 : You can replace -1 with any of the acceptable range of values.

Bang those in a hotbar or 2. You can even combine them for some extra tweaking SMILEY

* Single space between the instruction and the value

end quote

Something has to work considering there's a few UI's that will change settings with a quick press of a button. I'd try asking your question at eq2interface.com

I'm going to merge this with your other post on here, about the same topic.

Thanks.

What does "r_performance" include? I think it adjusts more options than those I have mentioned above? I DON'T want to have changed stuff like TEXTURE resolution etc; only the mentioned ones. Doesn't it change almost all options related to video?

Reason for all this is the great out-of-memory-crash to the desktop introduced with LU 43 (?) that SOE is not able to fix (though 4GB and 512 vram etc).

Only setting the mentioned options to minimum prevents that I crash to the desktop in many areas. All the time I need to enter the menu and adjust those settings manually. Convenient looks different.

That's why I wanted two macros. One setting the options responsible for the crash to minimum, the second restoring them to my default (max). So I would be able to play EQ2 not by the main menu all the time but could contentrate on actual 3D gameplay.

Using "/r_performance 0" would set everything to minimum, whereas "/r_performance 6" would boost everything to the maximum, including options I don't want to touch.

If SOE is not able to fix that rediculous out-of-memory-bug I will cancel my account. I am not paying for something that crashes to the desktop all the freaking time while I have sufficient ram and vram.

Doesn't the display option menu have the ability to save profiles now? Have you looked into that?

Using the UI save/load function totally ruins my UI. Both with and without mods installed. Loading a saved UI I have to re-arrange my UI including chat settings.

Sorry about the delay in getting the information to you. Here are the commands I hope you are requesting. AFAIK, there is no command for texture, but I am still digging around for information.Light Resolution:/r_light_buffer_scale (Default 1.000000) Rendering Distance:/o_max_farplane (Default 650.000000) Complex Shader Distance:r_fast_layer_min_distance (Default 50.000000)
