Hello all,Thanks for reading my post.I am new and have a level 14 dark elf wizard. I am having a great time so far.I was hoping for some help with choosing where to spend my AA points. I have so far spent them on the mage line. I got the pet and then placed points into INT as well as down the STA line to get the AOE. I think I may have made a mistake by doing that. The mage area seemed better than the wizard AA options although I am very new and dont understand a lot of it.Should I be considering a change in my tactics and go into the wizard AA skills?Did I make a mistake by going down the STA line of mage AA?Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,Psoriasis

If you are on PVP server go for STA (Manashield) then STR (max Parry)

If you are on PVE server go for AGI first (max casting haste) then WIS (max % base damage and Freehand Sorcery)

I did the Wizard side, concentrating on the:

Red (Direct Damage)- You'll know what spells you use most, match up the icons.

Mage Shielding- This should be a no-brainer for defense for solo. Although I ended up with only 9 points in it (out of 10) so I could have the others I wanted.

And Green (group AoE)- I ccan usually take out yellow mobs with one (sometimes two depending on resists) cycle of casts (the two greens and the Blue (everything in range) AoE. It's not pretty sometimes, and sometimes they are all standing over my body laughing because all of them resisted.

I solo most of the time on a PvE server. PvP and raiding require different tactics.

Howard

AGI > WIS > Wizard cold spell AA line > wizard heat spell AA line > STR for max crits > spend remainder in wizard tree.AGI and WIS come in just about equal but i'd venture to say cast speed is nicer for solo'ing.AGI - 4 - 4 - 6 - 8 - 1WIS - 4 - 7 - 4 - 8 - 1STR - 4 - 4 - 4 - 8 - XHeat and Cold lines are alot of personal preference. A few that can't be ignored tho are maxing redning icicles, storming tempest, frigid gift/iceshap, bolt of ice. On the fire side make sure you land points in Ball of magma/fire etc and max it - rest are all pretty decent choices.

Depends on your playstyle.

If you mostly solo, you'd want to go for things that help you with defense (manashield, parry, etc). If you mostly group/raid, you'd want to consider more for +dmg, +power.

You can always buy one of those AA mirrors so you can change them out for whatever occasion you are having.

Personally, I solo 95% of the time, so I'd put 10pts in my magi shielding (for the ward), then STA line (for manashield), then WIS (to save 12%power on all spells cast/freehand sorcery for major +dmg). After that, I'd hit the Cold line (for several things), then hit the Strength line for parrying and critical dmg or maybe Power line for Manaburn. I never have understood the agi line, it doesn't even reduce spellcasting by 1sec when you max out the line, seems a waste, but seems like alot of people like it, maybe they've done parsing studies, who knows? But, it's all about your style.
