It would be great if there were a way to lock books (and whatever else) onto the bookcases once they're placed. Ever spent the better part of a day lining all your books up perfectly, placing animals, scrolls, and various other knick-knacks on your bookshelves only to realize you wish the whole thing were 2 inches to the left?

It would be nice. I dont touch my books once i place them now unless i really have to. I used to move them around to make it perfect when I placed one. After accidently moving the bookcases too much by not realizing I had the bookcase and not the book targeted and spending a lot of time repositioning either all the books or the case, I place once and unless it looks truly messed up, there it stays.

WHile we are talking about moving stuff, it would also be nice for the trophy cases, tables, and display stands to do the same thing.

Actually, a more general solution would be to allow objects to move moved as groups, keeping their relative positions during the move. To use the windows desktop as an example, I could drag a box around the things I want to move, and then do the move on all that "stuff" at once.Alternatively, a bunch of /slash commands to let you select/unselect and move by location might make it easier to rearrange things too. Point at stuff with the mouse, use /furniture_select (or whatever they call it), then use /furniture_move -3.00, 14.78, 0.0 to nudge all the selected things around. But yeah.

I agree. I'd love to see a lock stuff to the bookshelf mechanic. You never know when new furniture will come in that you want to put right HERE which means the bookshelf needs to move over THERE.

There's a good reason why I just use 3 Intricate Oak Tables for my library.

Because with book designs constantly changing, none of them will ever properly fit inside a bookshelf to match up exactly without having some problem such as the stacks sticking out of the shelf above, or whatever.

I just place them on my tables and line them up manually. The end result is a library of 270+ books that doesn't use even one bookshelf.
