I've never played a monk on eq2. But I have played 2 bruisers to 70+ and really enjoyed it. However I've grown bored of the bruiser due to lack of raid utility as well as lack of an epic weapon that doesn't look tarded (sorry, no offense to those who actually like it). But I can't imagine putting hours, days, or weeks into getting an epic weapon that I'm embarassed to wield. Anyway, the point of this post:Are there any major things that I should know before this change? Anything major that you'd think I'm losing or gaining via this change? Any "gotchas" to speak of? I think I have a fairly clear understanding of the monk, but how can I really know without playing one. Thanks in advance. oh and PS> I'm on a pvp server. So anything relating to pvp is appreciated as well.

<div>Monk heal is TARGETED instead of self only. This is important for two main reasons. 1) Grouping/Raiding: If you have another friendly player targeted, you will heal them instead of yourself. If you have an enemy targeted, you will heal their target (not you if they don't hate you enough). 2) If you are harvesting in a dangerous area, your heal WILL NOT work with a harvest node targeted... which is VERY annoying and has caused me to die before. You have to click something else, or hit Escape (maybe numerous times if you have other windows open), or hit F1 to target yourself before healing.</div><div></div><div>I have /bug'd the harvest node this... so annoying.</div>

For that i have a macro setup with me as the target for the heal. Makes it easy to just heal myself. I also have a copy of the spell next to it that is normal for those times when i do want to heal someone else. I have had it save the raid when i have used it on the MT to keep him up while the healers recover and start healing again.
