Guk server has been really empty this week. More so than usual. Someone said it was because many people are in Vegas for the SOE fanfaire....I sure hope that's not the case..SOE fanfaires usually draw 4-5000 people (if that many) acroass all the games that the fan faire sponsors....So if it's true is the EQ2 population really that low? I don't mean to imply that the overall population is only a few thousand, but if that many people are in vegas, maybe the server populations are much worse than we thought?

No one reads teh server forums...that is no one that can look into the server populations....if in fact ehy want to do anything about it...Guk has been losing a lot of players since LoTRo and even more with AoC..most T8 zones have less than 20 people at peak times..last night KJ and JW had 14-16 people in each zone when I was there...

The Olympic Games are going on and that may be drawing people to the TV.

many dont login too often anymore since they have done all the rok stuff once too often (big number of eq2 players quits regularly to come back when an expansion launches).

olympics, while i'd never watch a single event related to it, some people love watching sports on tv.

most people dont do open dungeons in t8 and overland zones are boring once done with the quests.

most people dont group with non guildies, which also reduces the amount of chat in level channels and gives the game an empty feeling.

Didnt school start up this week?

Since voice chat went live, there seems to be a lot less text chat on Everfrost. Still easy to get a group though, for my 50's, 60's, and 80 toon.

AS for folks leaving for AoC, we have had three guildies come BACK from there, and bring either three or four new EQ2 players with them.

I'm sure its just coincidence and nothing to do with the quality of AoC.. but every single friend of mine that left for AoC is back in EQ2 and accounted for.

Good choice of words.

I guess I'll feel it when I get near end game level, so far finding groups for HQ's isn't too bad.

Just formed my own personal guild and using 1-9 chat to hear someone mosh and sing.

I'm just surprised that Bleap has started yet another thread about Guk's population, without once (yet) mentioning the "need" for server mergers.

I guess that's coming.

Good lord bleap, you start a new thread about the population of Guk almost weekly. Accept that it has a low population or move on. You're starting to sound like a broken record.

Oddly, though, if you look at the list of fairfaire attendees for Guk, you can see it is longer than MANY of the other servers. Don't really know if that has to due with population, or maybe one guild decided to have every member go.

https://secure.station.sony.com/fan...ectedServer=Guk

Oh, they're there, they're just staying away from you. Didn't you get the memo? Oh, wait, nevermind, I guess you wouldn't have. I'm sorry, I let the cat outta the bag...

I've been on Guk since November 2004. My guild is one of the larger, more active ones on Guk. I've never seen Bleap once. Who is Bleap? Maybe Bleap doesn't exist. After all, if I don't personally see Bleap, it's obvious that there is no Bleap, right?

I'm moderately suspicious that when I look at the server listings, they have them listed from lowest population to highest. I could be wrong, but it sure seems that way. If that's the case, the last I looked, Guk has a higher population than Mistmoore ... yet, I don't have problems finding groups, when I want them.

I have... and it's junk...pretty junk...but still junk! .. it has great potential...but under the direction of funcom it'll probably never be realized.... so yes...I can guarantee a good portion of the people that left will for AoC will WILL be returning...but then there is always Warhammer on the horizon. Hopefully, the Eq2 expansion will ofset those that leave for it...

Kithicor appears ok... it has it's prime times ...and it's usually busy during those hours...One thing I've noticed in terms of PUGs... there is always a call out for FG, RoV and RE.... and a little CT... but I never see call outs for xp groups for higher level instances...I wonder if it's because people settle down in a guild by that time... or they just leave around 40-50s... or create an alt again even though they haven't reach cap.and this has been going on since before the LL campaign...
