Hi. Since around the time of the last major update I am having an issue that prevent's me from playing EQ2. After about 25 minutes, the game "mostly" freezes. By this i mean... all my combat icons and interactive objects become unusable. I can usually continue to run around the screen, but the mobs that are there can't hurt me. I can also usually then log off using the on screen icon.

I've tried updates to video and sound drivers, full scans and updates of EQ2, and I even wiped my hard drive and started from scratch. Still no luck.

Is this the end of an era for me...? I hope not. Please help!

 Thank you

What you describe seems more like a connectivity problem... like you're totally lagging out, but not quite to the point of disconnection. Have you added EQ2 to the exclusions on your firewall or antivirus software? Sometimes after an update I have to remove and readd EQ2 to my antivirus to get rid of hiccups.

I'll check that out, but right now I don't even have Norton reloaded yet. Wouldn't a connection issue show up as soon as I logged in? I am able to play normally for between 8 and 25 minutes.

If you don't have antivirus running at all then it may get a bit stickier. If you are actually playing EQ from outside the US you will probably want to take a look at this thread. Otherwise you'll want to look at this thread for instructions on posting some detailed info the techies can use to sort out a possible solution.

Well, I updated my directX and finally did the video driver update correctly and the problem seems to have gone away. Not sure what did it, but I'm happy that all is well for now!

Thanks for your attention
