I'll be honest I never really gave EQ2 a fair try. I played when it was first released got up to around lvl 30 and stopped playing.
I'm looking to come back and give it another go and am trying to sort my way through all the changes that have been made and its becoming a bit difficult. I'm looking to play either a healing class or a tanking class as these archetypes fit me the best (warrior and cleric in EQ1, Priest and warrior in WoW) I enjoy grouping more than soloing but will be pugging unless I find a guild wanting to take a complete n00b under its wing for guidance.

Of the healing classes what is the one actually most sought for healing in groups? Most of the posts I run accross are talking about solo DPS of the classes no one ever really talks about the healing anymore unfortuantely.

Thanks for any responses,

~Winter

Groups are pretty hard to come by these days in lower levels, so you'll be soloing a fair bit to start, regardless. There isn't really a bad priest class (unlike say Monk, Shadowknight and Bruiser amongst the fighters), probably Warlock in the mages.Any reasonably played/geared/spelled priest can pretty much solo heal any group zone, and only the fussiest group leaders will care what kind.Of the pairs of complementary priests there is generally one more popular, currently more powerful. I'd put them:Templar > InquisitorFury > WardenDefiler > Mystic But when it comes to guilds, raiding etc, it really depends what they already have.It does seem to me, that Templar has replaced Fury as flavour of the month. Those 2 seem to be the most popular in T8 at present.I guess I'm personally biased (playing a templar and all), but when a group asks for a priest they will always accept a Templar or Warden, but Furys still have this "Nuking rather than Healing" stigma attached.Shaman (Defilers & Mystics) were underpowerd for so long when the game was released, that they are still I think a bit scarcer.Inquisitor ? Well they are just templars who haven't betrayed (yet )
