View Full Version : Change appearance of illusion forms?

For example, when my half elf bard uses the guise of the deceiver, i hate the way she looks in DE form. Would be nice if I could somehow log off while in illusion form, then be given 1 free "Set Appearance" for *that* illusion form only. Anyone else feel this way or is it just me?

I'm not sure what you are asking for, but you can 'hide illusion' under P and Options.

Tanatz wants to be able to pick how an illusion appears on her character. AKA When she turns into a Dark Elf, she wants to be able to pick what that particular Dark Elf looks like.

I made a post asking this way earlier, but you will find out that it's futile. Oh well.

Only slight off topic, but could we get the same thing for the 'fun spell' followers?

I Don't mind that my SK Gnome girl has a Human boy following her (instead of a male Gnome... maybe he has a thing for powerful, but short women /shrug)... but his sideburns are DREADFUL. They are these huge things that stick out like mini-mohawks from each side of this face. UGH! I mean if he is 'my underling' you think I could at least impose some basic grooming standards. Or at least go back to the random appearance. I'd take putting up with a girl minion every so often, if I could just unsummon the flunkies who fail to met certain grooming standards.

I was a bit disappointed that I didn't get to pick which female vampire illusion I have. There is one with side lace-up leggings that I liked a lot. Also my female pally has a male pet, that once they quit randomizing, is not the one I would have picked if I would've had a choice.

I want it too. Some of my racial illusions are so hidious that I scream in horror and the neighbors get mad.....

Ugh they stopped randomizing those pets? ewwwwI completely sympathize with the illusions.

If I use dwarf or gnome illusion my character is ancient and bald. I recall another thread about this ages ago, and nothing came of it then. I sadly have little faith it will change this time either.

I wonder how difficult it would be to implement?

There is a trick to do it actually...ive done it loads of times.

Lets say you are a Highelf and wants to look like a Darkelf and you use a Petrified Darkelf Eye.Your Highelf uses hairstyle nr. 5 in the list of the options..so will your Darkelf illusion...and same with the rest of the illusions.

It can be abit tricky to find a hair that you like on both looks...and some races have more hairstyles than others.Just buy a haircut and check back and forth....

I completely agree. I'd love to be able to change the look of my DE illusion.

Every 'old school' illusion (not counting the ones from epic quest line) except gnoll turns her bald and ugly with giant ears and ugly facial features due to my choises on how I want her to look in her natural shape. Id like my illusionist to be able to use her illusions without either lookin like a freak or giving up her ratongan cuteness.

I think there should've been two choices for Guise of the Deceiver myself. I mainly play Dark Elf toons so a Dark Elf Illusion is kind of pointless. Maybe a Half Elf or High Elf Illusion as a second choice would've been nice.

They have this feature (illusion face selection) in eq1 but you can change your face between the 3 choices on the fly (no barber). I think you would have to set it out of game in the character selection the way the mechanics work in eq2. If you could camp to that in illusion form then they could add the selection.

Yes, it would be great, to be able to customise racial illusion. It also would be great to add racial illusion of arasai...

As an Illusionist, I agree that this is absolutely something that should have been in from launch, was never implemented, and probably never will be. However, I need to be able to set appearances individually on each and every player-race illusion. Also, my pet needs to copy my ILLUSIONED form, not my base form. I need to be able to wear gold crown in High Elf, crystal crown in DE, and Violet Crown in Wood Elf! This cannot be done under the current system. Fix it already!I really, really, really, really wish that SOMEone at Sony would actually try to play an Illusionist and put in some of these fixes!

Even if we had to pay for the ability to do so (ie - buy a shave/haircut for an illusion appearance). I have several of the Queen's Masquerade drinks and I rarely use them because I HATE the way I look in halfling form. Using that drink, your race changes every time you zone. I can deal with all of the illusions except the halfling one. I would gladly pay to be able to change how I look in halfling mode.

maybe related, or not, but i;d just be happy if all our illusion forms (and fun spell illusion forms) would maintain themselves on a mount. my arasai necro loves being a skeleton, but being a skeleton on his horse would be quite a bit more appealing
