low dps

<p>Hi! I have a lvl 80 necro on the unrest server and was just in a group that griped about my lack of dps.  Has anyone ever run into this problem...it really irritated me.  I use my scout pet when group because I was always under the impression they deal decent damage.  How do i up my dps output, most of my attack spells are adept III also.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.</p>

<p>Post a link to your player profile, it will allow players to give you suggestions on gear or AA changes if needed.</p><p>What spell quality is your Scout pet?</p><p>What spell did you select for your Master II choice for tier 8?</p><p>Low DPS?  How low are you talking?  No, I've never had a complaint about my DPS and yes I get beat routinely by properly played Scout DPS classes in this expansion as most instance zone fights are 9-10 seconds, but the moment the fight goes over 18 seconds or has multiple mobs the parse is in my favor.   Short fights of less than 12 seconds will not reflect your DPS ability as you do not have any burst DPS, making the length of a fight important.  If the group you were in are unaware of this fact so be it.</p><p>Group makeup can help and hurt your DPS.  Group buffs enable alot of of a players DPS potential.</p><p>What is your typical cast order?  Are you a spammer or do you use a consistent order to your spell rotation? </p><p>Do you use swarm pets on instance runs?  I've seen >1k zw difference in parses between myself and another Necro in the same zone/group but that Necro used swarms not realizing they are a waste of time on very short fights, you'll do more DPS casting another DoT or two vs spending the casting time to send in swarms.</p><p>I know it seems I'm asking alot of questions but there's no magic pill to allow you to gain DPS, gear, AA choices, spell quality, group buffs, a consistent spell order that takes into consideration reuse timers, and paying attention all contribute towards your performance potential.  Asking a generic how-to question without providing basic information isn't going to create helpful suggestions.</p>

Ok, since I'm relatively new to the forums I dont know how to post a link to my toon's info.  But my scout pet is adept 3, and when I'm talking low dps I'm saying around 1200k. I hit my spells as fast as I can usually but casting time hangs me up some.  The t8 spell i picked for my master II was siphoning of souls, which was probably a bad choice.  If you can walk me through how to post my toons info I'll be more then happy to...thx for the input

Ok , for a start you need to start getting more gear with +crit , do some RE2 runs and try and get the cloak from there , there are a couple of items that would be upgrades from there too...The robe from there that adds to your pets damage would be a big boost also.

Thx guys...you gave me some places to start.  I havent even been to RE2 yet, and I have been working on my epic....3 updates to go. Isnt there also a mc cloak I can get that will up my spell damage also?  Thx again for the help <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Go to the EQ2Flames necro section, there are alot of posts concerning ways to increase dps and alot more of the high end community can be found there to get responses from.
