Offensive Stance vs. Defensive Stance

Hey guys, been playing the game on and off since launch but I just made my first brigand two days ago.  Which stance would be best for soloing?  Offensive, defensive, or no stance?  I found that when I put my offensive stance on I got wrecked, but I'm only lvl 20 and the skill was only Apprentice I.  What stance do you find best for soloing?

For the most part, you can just use your offensive stance for soloing, unless you're taking on multible mobs or expecting a hard fight (ie: heroic or yellow/red).  In which case you'll want to pop on your defensive stance.

<p>I permanently exist in Offensive stance.  The bonus to your weapon skill is just hard to beat.  I've gotten to the point that I know how many arts it takes to kill a certain level mob.  Yet this estimation is based on knowing that all of my attacks hit, especially the vital ones.  For that reason, I prefer the offensive stance.  But then again, that's also based on soloing and blazing down the mobs in a DPS race.</p><p>Yet I do use my Defensive stance occassionally.  If I'm <u>exploring</u> a dungeon / instance, I throw it up.  The extra avoidance and mitigation are life savers when you have to run like an idiot past mobs that can see through stealth.  At that point, I'm just trying to survive getting past them while I'm looking for a safe spot to feign death.</p>

Once your beyond that, it becomes very very easy.

Most mobs aren't supposed to hit you enough to want def stance...in case you plan on long fight without kiting moments...deffensive is the best
