DPS + Haste

I'm 73 atm. I have the 72 MC cloak that gives 26 to haste. My current DPS so far is 70 through my self buff.I've been told to ditch the cloak and get the Zek cloak (adding more DPS), and then to find another haste item. The only thing on the broker seems to be the Dark Gauntlets. A bit  pricey, though. Are they better than the Melodic Incarnadine? 15/30 Str, but there's still that haste. I'm leaning to yes, but it's also taking away the +45 Combat Art dmg.what are my options at this level, and later levels. Raiding is not the most easiest thing to do at this time.

Alright, -now- raiding is an option, though I think it's mostly t8 Kunark stuff. Leveling is definately a must, cause it seems I can't get into very many groups.Anything I should be focusing on? And is there an idea to the DPS/Haste issue?

<p>I'm familiar with Haste from EQ, and so have placed some importance in it in EQ2, but I'm doubtful if it's as useful as in the original EQ.  There's clearly some quirks on how Haste items work (what stacks with what) that is not explained in game, and might only be revealed through parsing.  </p><p>Flowing Black Silk Sash (FBSS) was a "must have" in the early days of EQ, and although I'm doubtful of its usefulness in EQ2 (like does it stack with Haste cloaks?), doing the Heritage quest "The Teachings of Yoru" is worthwhile and not terribly hard for mid-40's (probably of no use to the OP, but what the heck, can't hurt...)<a rel="nofollow" href="http://eq2.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?eq2item=3206" target="_blank">http://eq2.allakhazam.com/db/item.h...ml?eq2item=3206</a></p>

I'm a little foggy on it but it used to be you could have one proc, one spell, one armor piece with the effect "Haste" on it. Now they've introduced other kinds of stacking haste.And haste is definitely worth it although it's not the game breaker like in EQ1. It doesn't affect CAs but autoattack is a pretty substantial portion of DPS and going from 0% to max will over double it. If you think about it, capping DPS, haste, and double attack mods will multiply your autoattack times over eight. Without counting crits.Haste also will double the autoattack procs.

<p>I would get the Cloak of Flames HQ for a haste item. You give up 1% haste but get a bunch of other good stats.</p><p>The +DPS items are nice but you need to have at least one Haste item or you are missing out on allot of free damage.</p><p>Haste % items do not stack but +Haste items will.</p><p>So if you have a +2 haste adornment and your cloak you will have 28% haste.</p><p>If you have the cloak and the 15% Flowing Black Silk Sash HQ you will see no change.</p>

Without counting crits.Haste also will double the autoattack procs.</blockquote><p>A raiding assassin should be expecting at most 30-35% of their DPS to come from Auto-attack, which makes +MC (which affects both auto attack and CA damage), and +CA damage (which affects well over half our dps) the most worthwile mods.</p><p>The important mods for an assassin to look at is Melee crit, CA damage. After that you can look at double attack, then haste and dps stuff. You'll get enough haste from your group/raid buffs for your haste that you don't need to worry about gearing for it, and for soloing haste isn't really a helpful ability.</p>
