Patcher downloads dbghelp.dll everytime I start the game

Happens on my laptop where I play the game and never had a problem with the sound drivers or mic and headphone minijacks in any other software til they started messing with the voice chat in game. I cannot get any method of downloading updates to go into the game as they self cancel and then retry on their own. I have yet to see any answer and if everyone else is in game, good for you but some of us are still having catastrophic failures before the game starts so we will not be there to group [Removed for Content] or craft you that item you really needed. I cannot even use the remote guild chat to speak with my guildies who may have at least an answer which is more than the help I HAVE RECEIVED SO FAR FROM THE AUTOMATED HELP CENTER WHICH SURVEYS YOU AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE WITH THE 4 PERCENTAGE CHOICES, YOU KNOW THE ONES I MEAN. Time to roll back the server to 3 days ago and turn voice over to Teamspeak. I used it just fine before as well as ventrilo with these very headphones and their mini jacks which seem to be not good enough for eq2 and SOE.

<p>This was an EBKAC error.  I found some files that were duplicated into a folder where they shouldn't be and that fixed the problem.  </p><p>There were a bunch of game files in the mozilla folder for some reason.  Oh well.</p>

<p>What does EBKAC mean?  I'm having this same problem.  No matter which launcher/launchpad I use, I get stuck with a repeating download of the same file.  Sometimes it's sounds.rcc that repeats, sometimes it's something else.  For the last two nights, I've been unable to get into the game, because the stupid "play" button just never appears.  Even with the launchpad says "download complete," I'm just presented with a grayed out "update" button with clickable "download" text beneath it.  This just started last night, and I was having no problems before (other than the Station Launcher always wanting to update one of its own small files every day).</p><p>Makes me want to scream.</p>
