I think my current Fury is the strongest and most fun character I've ever played in an MMO. I'm having a total blast. I've been playing many MMOs since the original Everquest starting in 1999. Just started EQ2 six weeks ago. (My wife and I love the original EQ best of all, but we left when a hardware requirements upgrade forced us out, and it took a long time to come back.) Tonight at level 33 I ventured for the first time from Qeynos to Steamfont, which is supposed to be a lvl 35-50 zone. I was worried I'd die a lot, but I wanted to explore, and I was looking for Tier 4 crafting supplies. I also had sentimental reasons, since my very first MMO character was a gnome who started in original Steamfont. To my amazement, I just own everything in the zone that I've encountered so far. For the last few days in Thundering Steppes, I've had some problems with green triple elites, especially in groups. But in Steamfont tonight, I battled nonstop yellows and oranges (up to lvl 40, 7 levels above me) and never broke a sweat. Amazing. I didn't even have any close battles, even when fighting two or three critters five or six levels up. I'm a human fury. Having spent a lot of time studying the auction house, I've earned more than 7 plat there so far, and have been wise and lucky about purchases, so I have pretty good gear. I'm mainly specced for energy, although I put three points into strength and four into agility. (I respecced once;may do so again to move those STR and AGI pts into the energy line: I respecced after I found out that controlling a pet takes Concentration 3). My stats at level 34: Strength 114, Agility 180, Stamina 252, Intelligence 258, Wisdom 265, with about 1200 mitigation and 2500 avoidance. I have most spells at Master level or Adept III level (except for a few of the healing ones, which are so expensive). For Fury upgrades, I took: Lvl 14 Twirl (Fury is way underpowered from about lvl 10 to 14); Lvl 24 Bristlepelt (best move I made...invaluable for survival in the most dangerous of situations when you are mobbed); and just now at Lvl 34 I took Transcendant Predator (boosting AGI and STA by 65). Later tonight I want to see how high I can push this. I'm now lvl 34 and feeling invincible (even though I did some running from some large dangerous groups on my trip here through bad areas of Butcherblock). I own the lvl 40 mobs in Steamfont. Could I take a 44? Let me go find one. I remember in Dark Age of Camelot I was regularly soloing yellows, but I can't remember a game where I could regularly solo oranges. Sorry for long post, but I'm enjoying this very much and want to share!
