Hey guys!Everytime I log in with one of my characters (especially my trouba and shadowknight), the UI arrangement is like the standard UI when you first log in with a new character. This happened the first time today and still goes on, changing from trouba to sk and back I always have to use /load_uisettings to reload the arrangement of another toon. It starts getting really annoying.I use ProfitUI, but had no problems before. Don't know what happend to the ui, there were no patches or updates...Yes, there are files named like valor_linuky_eq2_uisettings, but it doesn't matter... the UI is always standard arrangement... but still the ProfitUI Skin.Don't know what to do, any clues?greetings,Linuky

Try reinstalling Profit and deleting all your character .ini files in the EQ2 folder. Try reinstalling Profit first.

As of Monday mid-day-ish I'm having the exact same problem, and I have never used Profit. Luckily I saw that others were having similar problems and decided to backup my character ui files. The only thing that I can identify as having specifically changed is that I decided to try the cl_show_voice_tutorial 0 command that someone suggested, because I was tired of having to say no to voice chat that I had already manually disabled (as well as being spammed 30 times by a "your voice chat is turned off" message. I did, however, take that line out of my eq2.ini file, and it didn't make any difference to the default issue. If I enter game through the regular EQ2 launcher, my existing guk_toon.ini file gets wiped with a default version and the UI goes back to the basic default. The file goes from approx. 17kb down to 2 kb. If I try /load_uisettings at this point to copy UI settings from another toon, nothing changes. If I quit game and try a different toon, the same default thing happens. If I /camp from a default toon to an ok toon, the ok toon reverts to default. The only way I've found to fix the problem so far is to go to character select through the launcher, choose a character (which goes to default), and THEN use /load_uisettings to copy the UI back over. Somehow that combination works, thankfully.

Tried to reinstall ProfitUI - problem still exists.Tried to delete the UI settings file - problem still exists.I switched from my SK to troubadour, suprisingly, the UI layout was the one I set. Then I logged back to my SK and the UI was broken again.Lucky me, I have saved the UI layout, but typing /load_uisettings and then have to choose the right UI every time you log in is still very annoying ....

There is a thread on this on eq2interface as well, I thought I'd repost here what one user posted:

well... after some messing around, guess what happened ... i turned voice chat off, logged out and back in ... got 30+ spam messaged about voice chat being disabled, but /load_uisettings worked. this makes no sense to me, but at least the UI is back.

I had this issue on the phone yesterday. We resolved it by, going to the properties of the EQ2 folder and chaning it from read only. Once done the customer could log in and out without the UI changing.Right click on the Everquest 2 folder, click properties.Under attributes on the bottom, uncheck "Read-only"click ok.Try to log back into game, make a some small UI changes, then log out and back in again to see if they stuck.

Are you using voice chat? Any custom channels or problems with voice chat?

I don't use voice chat. First time it was ingame, I created a custom channel for testing with a friend, but with the tutorial window popping up every time you log in I simply click "Close" or disable the voice chat. Don't have any problems with voice chat either, except that it spams my chat window when it's disabled, can't remember the message - some of that kind gm9 quoted.

I joined a voice chat channel once the day it came out and I found this in the ui files of the characters I was having problems on.

Activated Voice Chat for testing the UI problem and noticed that I'm like 1000 times in the custom voice channel "test" (which I created to test the vc on release day) - well I do not exactly know how many times the channel is listed, stopped counting at 50 with no movement on the scroll bar. Also, my UI file looks like this:

Thanks for the screenies. OK lets try this. As we know the chat channels are saved in your UI.ini files. Backup your UIs (save your INI to another folder), and then delete the following.cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.ini
As well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.ini

Go ahead and rearrange your UI as you need, and then back this up as well, so we know you have a UI that is the way you want it, without any voice chat custom channels.

Now go ahead and create your custom voice channels, or join your custom channels.

What I believe is happening is that your UI is corrupt, then due to the corrupt INI file, the voice chat channels are casuing issues and causing the file to fill up until it resets to deafault.

Thanks for your help!

Sigh, you know my UI resetting seemed to have stopped itself, but I did everything you suggested to try to fix a different problem with my dirge anyways. Things were fine yesterday, but today every toon is resetting itself again...The really annoying part is that even reloading working ui settings isn't fixing the problem. I'll doublecheck (again) that my eq2 folder hasn't somehow gotten readonly, but I really can't see how that might have suddenly happened overnight.
