Ok i know there is a lot of issues with 8 series cards and everquest 2. But none of the issues i find seem to relate to mine, So here's the PC spec:OCZ Stealth XStream 600W PSU - SLI Ready ATX2.2ASUS M2A-VM HDMI 690G Socket AM2AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+Point Of View 8800GT EXO Overclocked Edition 512MB GDDR34GB DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400250GB 7200rpm SATA (Master)500BG 7200rpm SATA (slave)Windows XP 32bit (yes i only use 3.5gb of my ram)GFX drivers: 6.14.11.7519This setup runs every game i have(around 20 of the latest 07-08 games) flawlessly, its only eq2 i have this problem with.It logs in fine, it boots up fine. When its running i get a very respectable fps in high qualty even on raids. but for some reason i am experiencing what can only be described as random gpu crash's. the screen goes black, my sound stutters and i am forced to reboot. ive tried every nvidia driver available (inc soe reccomended). I'm pretty tech aware with my pc's but this has stumped me.This 8800gt is a NEW OC revision its not the same as the old 8800gt's and i do not sufffer any stutter etc like they did.So far i have tried the following and still crash.

running on extreme performance

running at x2 aa(apparently that helps)

running character rez at high(not maximum as i would like) apparently that also helps

running at lower rez(1680x1050 is my prefered) ive tried a few lower ones.

checked to see if its a over heat issue, cpu stays under 55c and gpu under 70c so thats pretty cool considering.

Drivers for gpu, bios, directx(9c) are all at latest and upto date

I also ran a driver cleaner in safe mode to makes sure none of the ATI ones were left over

Lastly my old 2600xt 256mb ddr4 runs this game fine with no crashs no problems at all, but obviously the 8800gt is is a much better card i can run better qualities in every game i own so i would like to see it working. someone please have an idea =)

I just got my new Alienware Friday. I am having the EXACT same issues. It's random, and when it happens I get all sorts of triangles and lines on screen then the screen goes black. My other monitor is fine but cant move mouse to it or anything and have to reboot.

I have the lastest 9800gx2 drivers

I have the latest SB X-FI drivers

I am running Vista 32

I verified it is not a heat issue.

I am at a loss. I got a hunch it's just the game not liking this card/driver. If anyone has a fix I would love to hear it. This is very aggravating.

Same as the guy above me, and I'm running Vista, so for us 2 at least, I think Vista must be the problem. After playing for 10 minutes, without fail, my graphics freak out and the game freezes, then my monitor goes black and I have to reboot. Some tech support would be nice, so I could play again.

I went searching and I found someone who has a fix for it. I tried it and it fixed my issue..."after I login to the "Launchpad" but before I click "Play", I go to process manager and set the affinity to the last 2 cores only. This causes Everquest2.exe to "inherit" that affinity when it kicks off after you click "Play". Then while EQ2 is loading, I go back to Process Manager and set the priority to 'High'. "Edit: Should probably add that you have to do this everytime you load the game
