I have a new Dell XPS M1730 laptop. I ran EQ2 on it perfectly, flawlessly, for 2 solid weeks. Suddenly, last week, with no warning, I would be typing in chat channel and I would get duppppppppppppliccccccaaaatttteeee letters like that. I would press the forward (up arrow) key and start spinning in circles. This has gone on now for a week, and it is driving me nuts! I did a search of the forums and some TSR said to disable Google desktop. I don't have that on my computer. Somebody else said it has to do with dual core technology but I have that kind of processor on my XPS desktop and don't have that problem.I have run thorough file scans. I have not installed any other software on the laptop, other than EQ2. It ran fine, now it is is not. Please, can anybody help solve this?

You may want to run a program you can find with a google search called "hijackthis" and see if any odd programs are starting up when Windows boots.

The last time I saw the spinning and repeated letters pop up was when my antivirus updated. It apparently affected quite a few MMO's and they patched it. You may want to check the support forums for your AV program to see if there are any known issued. Mine was Avast!.

That happened to me once when I spilled a drink on my keyboard. I think you would have noticed that though... I sure did.But ya, antivirus seems like the likely culprit here.
