View Full Version : Bloodletter Ability

I'm curious if this ability could be considered to be reworked for SKs. This whole life save by killing your group is a bit ridiculous imho and should be changed around a bit. We Shadowknights care about taking down our enemy at any cost since we are crusading zealots.

How about turning blood letter into an impairment we can place on our enemies. It works like the Assassin's "mark" ability, but has 3 triggers on it with each trigger activating 4-5 times for a total of 12-15 times. It would be on 10-15% of attacks Bloodletter has a chance to cast Vampiric Siphon. The vampiric siphon whenever the mob is damage 600-700 damage is done to the mob with 400-500 health being given back to the Shadowknight or 200-300 health being given back to the SKs group.

Now if this thing hits for max end at 700 damage x4-5=2800-3500 dmg now 2800-3500x3 triggers=a measly 8.4k-10.5k damage. If you add in a 1min30sec-2min reuse timer that's about as much damage as firing off 4-5 Pain Wraiths *Have crit hitted my pain wraith up to 2600dmg*. It's perfectly balanced and adds a bit more utility to the shadowknights.

Another thing that would be interesting to see is if we could place our reaving ability upon ourselves or another spell caster *Paladins Included*. This way it becomes choice to augment a raid member helping to keep a caster alive through AoEs or are we selfish.

God no, Bloodletter is the only bright side to SK tanking at this point in time...taking it away is not a good idea. As it is even being the only bright side it has major issues, such as being both dispellable + always the first buff dispelled, being non-combat castable, and being restricted to 1 SK in a group or a raid.

We have plenty of damage spells, ca's, and abilities as it is.....they just suck! So fix them, don't change something that at least partially works.

Fact it is non-combat castable makes it perfect for pulling a mob for inc.

Bloodletter is about the only good thing that happened to SKs this expansion.

Just wish it was first not debuffable, that kind of ticks me off that a mob debuffs it and I have to wait after the fight to recast it.

Plus would like to see it have three charges vs the one it has now. From what I heard thats what it had in beta, but the Guards screamed and got it nerfed.

The higher the Bloodletter spell, the less it will harm your group as well. It will only have a chance to kill group members if it is in the Apprentice/Adept 1 area. We have an awesome SK in our guild with an Adept 3 version and even on my warlock with 40% health it has yet to kill me when it goes off.

I guess it would have to have a refresh timers like maybe 20 or 30 seconds to not make it too powerful (granted I would really like to be overpowered for once).
