View Full Version : Need some info on Shadowknights, please?
How are Shadowknights in terms of solo play? How is the dps and survivabilty in comparison to other fighter classes?Do they have positionals? Any utility? Can Shadowknights use twohanders? Or are they stuck playing with sword and board?I am not looking for something to raid with, just something to play with for fun, either soloing or small group dungeons.

With the right AAs several of your spells get new lifetaps added to them, with that influx of health it can be hard to take a SK down even with groups attacking. No positionals and very little utility really... we have escape at 45 and a targetable Feign death that is great for saving mages who get a little to trigger happy.... or annoy them as it knocks their buffs off. =-)You can use two handers but a lot of Sks use S&B because a lot of our damage is spell related vs weapons. It is good you are not looking to raid, that is where most SKs are unhappy at the moment. For what you are looking for you couldn't have picked a better class. Have fun and good luck!

Lots of lifetaps -- vs solo mobs I rarely finish a fight below 90% health, and more often I'm still at 100%.

2) DPS is high in the lower levels vs other fighters, but over time with AA's they close the gap. And in T8 the spells we have lose a bit of their "oomph" but we gain a lot of melee, so it still balances out.

3) No positionals. Only thing that might be utility is our evac and the targetable Feign Death that was already mentioned (which does NOT knock the buffs off a groupmate anymore, nor has it for something like 2 years)

4) They can use them, yes, but generally 2H weaps suck pretty bad. When tanking you want all the avoidance you can get anyway, plus there's a taunt built in to our shieldbash so you really want sword and board when tanking anyway. I did use a 2H the other day since I was secondary/dps/Offtank in a guild instance group, and I did decent dps, but it wasn't that much more than sword and board either.

5) SK's make awesome soloers and group tanks. I enjoy the heck out of mine. Couldn't care less about raiding on it -- that's what my coercer's for
