I don't Wanna be another guy to push for this.but why is plate the same for females as it is males?Plate Vanguard for Females Should be more protective and less protective around areas that females want to cover most.""Breast Plate""Should Cover The Top Part of the Chest, Buttom Part Should probably be chain to allow more movement.""Biceps""Right Bicep should be Quite Smaller, Protect Mostly the Arm and look more like a Chain Bicep then a Plate oneLeft Bicep Should be Big, Providing a much better looking impact on how she takes hits, but all you see is the bicep, rest of the arm isnt covered ((to provide Agility))Greaves: Protection Around the Waist, but Mostly Open and Chain, With a Chain Skirt Comming Down Around the back, Mostly Chain, Kneecaps And front leg armor should be plate ((Provides a look of more movement and agility with portection)).__Chain Armor: A Mix of Leather, And Chain, Around Parts Woman Want Protected and Covered the most!- Sometimes revealing a little could make your enemy uncomfortable fighting such a Revealing Assassin

Because not everyone thinks the armor should be sexist =p

I'm all for revealing armor, as long as it's not Female only revealing armor. If it's a crop top on that cute little half elf girl, it'd better be a crop top on the stumpy little dwarf dude. Thongs? A-okay. As long as the guys have one too. If it's butt-less chaps, better be that way for ogre guys as well as high elf women.

/lol at the buttless chaps clad ogre

*ahem* I'm all for a little more variation in armor so I'll agree on that. Only part that bugs me is the wording of "areas that females want to cover most." Frankly I'm sure the women are no less concerned about impaled stomachs than the men. If those burly barbarian fellas get nice thick plates on their plate armor than by golly my Guardian Gal better have nice thick plates too. I guess I sort of got the impression that your female version of plate would really be mostly chain, but called "plate". I get the idea that you're trying to make the women look more agile than brutish though. Could be interesting, just make sure that the fellas get equal treatment as far as the aesthetics go.

If we're just looking for the ole boobie-taunt factor then the gals might as well tank in a bikini and call it a perma-mezz taunt. Mobs would just stand there staring and politely submit to being cut to shreds.

I think I smell glue... made from a dead horse. Nothing new is ever going to happen here. Retread, recolor, redundant that's the philosophy at SOE (Same Old Everything). As far of those saying variations must include everyone... Why? Seriously. The whole homogeny of the game is why variation by gender and race are desired. The concept of: "If they get it I want it too" will kill the game. As it is why have races, genders, classes at all??? There is nothing unique about any of it so let's just have hermaphroditic battling slugs in burlap sacks. Why not just have the game in 4 shades of gray?I really don't get why some of the above comments were even deemed logical.

Equal treatment doesn't have to mean exactly the same look. My only objection was the thought of the guys walking around like tin cans and the girls running around in chainmail bikinis with strategically placed token plate pieces. (And I know that is not what the OP actually proposed... just where the argument might end up.) If the girls get jazzed up a bit, the guys should get some tweaks as well. Doesn't have to be the same tweaks, just fair distribution of attention within reason. Maybe the guys would like to go for less chest armor for a more barbaric look. Maybe one of those centurion skirts and greaves instead of full leg armor. maybe the'd like to wear armor on only one arm as he suggested for the female. If female mages got some creative robe models and the guys got stuck with the neck-to-toe bathrobes we're all running around in now I'd imagine they'd feel a bit put out. Now whether there's a fae's chance in Neriak any of this would ever actually happen is an entirely other story.

It annoys me. If it's a revealing piece of armor, it should be a revealing piece of armor on both sexes & all races. That doesn't mean it has to be EXACTLY the same graphic (see gis for a great example of revealing for both sexes but still different).

These arguments always get so silly and typically end in a debate involving the issues of realism and what is sexist. The more significant initial question of the OP was specifically questioning why the plate armor was the same for both sexes. I think it's a good question, and one that does not necessarily involve the issue of "fair" treatment of both sexes.

Seriously, you want realism then remove ALL plate and chain armor from the game, because nobody in their right mind would ever run around in full plate or chain armor when adventuring. And speaking of "realism," considering the fact that all of us "heroes" in EQ2 are adventurers and not members of a militia, there is NO reason why those "adventurers" wouldn't be wearing revealing armor that is more designed for looks rather than full body protection. As it stands now, with the appearance doll, toons can already dress in skimpy dresses if they like, so the argument is essentially moot.

(( this thread makes me laugh heh.Does nobody else realise the female models ARE different than males?Usually the frontal areas give it away... *wink*You look at the side profile of a female avatar in any armor, versus a male. Tell me the models are the same =PNow... if you mean 'why arent the ARMOR DESIGNS different'... well... thats different lol
