*shy wave* before i begin this is my first post ever on these forums so take it easy. But I have a couple questions about how fast some of you guys level'ed to 80 (played time). i have been playing eq2 off and on since release, occasional stints playing other games and i was curious on whats the quickest any of you were able to hit 80.and what class you played? Im not very well knowleged about the game in all aspects but i do have a 66 bruiser. I have a couple different characters of numerous level ranges and i was mainly wondering what class can solo the fastest to higher levels. Difficulty isn't an issue. and neither is survivability. I have heard a lot about conj's and necro's as some of the best solo'ers but i have a 44 conj and it just seems a little bland. too much on the safe side, im looking for more of a speed killer and leveler. i hope this is the right place to post this. ThanksP.S. i hope at least some of you can understand what im asking P.S.S. im looking for more of a solo class and more solo based responses but i would love to hear feedback on group orientated classes.

Well, it actaully depends on how you play. If you rush thru levels it doesn't take too long. Someone will have to help you with the rushing aspect. I started playing early last December and I just hit 69 tonight. I do have several alts in the 20's too. That being said, I don't like to hurry. I worked on tradeskills along the way and truely enjoy exploring and enjoying the sights. I feel that is the best way to get your moneys worth. There is a ton to see and do, much more than any MMO I have played before, and there have been a few. As far as classes go, I really enjoy my conjuror. Conjurors and Necros *shudder* are two of the IMO best soloing classes and are able to take on some of the tougher mobs (per level) rather easily. Any class can solo to lvl 80, some just faster/easier than others. It all depends on how you enjoy playing really.Anyway, good luck and happy hunting.

Many people would tell you that scouts level pretty fast. Many of the groups I've been in have discussed this and scout is the common answer.

Leveled my new wizard to 69 today he now has 5 days played. My other character is a brigand I think I hit 80 at 12 days played...maby a little less. This was about 98% solo for both characters.

I'll have played my main for 3 years this September. He just dinged level 57 this past weekend. Probably be another year before I even glimpse End Game. And, for me, even that's too soon.

The only classes of mine that have hit 80 would be my crafters.... lolMy highest adventure classes would be my 75 Templar and my 65 Monk.... I have been playing since release with a few breaks in there due to RL (gotta hate it when that happens....lol)

My main reached 80 as a jeweler recently after 100 days played. He is about 28% away from 80 as a guard. He did spend several months on capped on 70.My swashie is 77 after 48 days played and my illusionist is 70 after 31 days.Generally I aim at one level per alt per month.

If your highest character is 66, you are approaching RoK content. Once you get to that point, it is all soloing to level 80, so you should be able to get through it pretty quickly.

It depends on how long you have to play and if your focus is just on 'leveling'. I came back to EQII for the Living Legacy Promotion on June 8th. Since June 8th I have a 33 Fury (29 Tailor), 27 Ranger (30 Woodworker), 22 Berserker (20 Alchemist, but had been a 24 Weaponsmith), 22 Guardian (30 Carpenter), 20 Warden (30 Sage) and a 15 Defiler (26 Provisioner). Keep in mind I've had a few other Chars that I deleted so had I stuck with one char and just leveled I'm guessing I'd be in my early 50's by now.

If you focus, follow the solo quest timelines, use eq2map ui and wikia, it takes 12-16 days of /played time to get to 80.If you have 400p to throw on collections, it takes 6-9 days of played time.If you lack focus, are not goal driven, and don't use the tools freely available to you... Well, see you next year.

It can be quick if done right. I have a SK that is currently 74 with a little over 6 days played and he is a level 80 Alchemist. I have 108 AA and haven't started RoK so I am betting 80 with 9 days played when all is said and done. (Unless those last two pages for Cloak of the Flame refuse to drop in a timely manner) I spent a good day's playtime alone farming two pages in kaladim ugh..

I can't see my exact leveling dates but - 1 - 70 (was current cap) took me like 2 months or so I think.70 - 80 took me about 14 days. Probably the least fun 14 days I've played of this entire game too.Though I know a friend who made a toon Nov 9 2004, hes taken some hefty breaks in between but they jsut hit 70 like a couple days ago lol.

Created my bruiser last March, took out time to level a monk to 43 (including a betrayal), did not particularly try to rush, did not use third party tools, currently level 76. I could have done if faster but see no point.

I just play to have fun. Once I hit 80 the fun is going to start to decrease. As far as I'm concerned 80 is the beginning of the end of my EQ2 fun.

I've been playing since launch oh 4 years or so back...and still have yet to hit 80 on my main or any of my other characters. Highest is 72 and I assure you it was accidental. I was at the endcap once (when it was 70) and got so burned out on the endgame raiding scene. I'm now taking my time and enjoying myself and am much happier.

I have been playing since 2 weeks after launch, albeit with 2 signifcant breaks included (6 months and a little over a year) and you can see from my signature where that has gotten me .

I try to get all the max. items for each level. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

A lot of things are difficult to compare though from release to now. For instance, I spent A LOT of time doing the original betrayal quest that nowadays is much easier. This can probably be said for a hundred other instances as well.

My main, a Monk, reached 80 not too long ago. Aproximately 30 days played, total but in reality it took about a year. I didn't particularly rush, though... I crafted, I have six alts, two or three of which I play off and on for several days at a time. I solo'd alot until around Tier 7 and 8.

I think it just depends on your play-style. If you play several hours everyday and stay very very focused on questing and if you are aggressive (meaning persistent) about finding groups for instances then you will level much faster than a casual player like myself.

thajoka wrote:
Guess its all style, I have this complex where I don't have fun until I hit the lvl cap lol.
Exactly, until your max level / aa and have time to get geared, you've only scratched the surface on what your character's potential is. At that point the game is about finding what your class excels at and learning to do it even better.Anyone can reach level cap, thats proved by my 7 year old thats been playing since he was 4. You don't need a strong understanding of the game to play any class to max level. You don't even really need to understand what it is your class does. If you can read the quest walkthru and you can press random buttons, you can get level 80.The challenge in the game begins there.

I recently began raiding and I feel like a total n00b. After playing 75% solo and 25% groups for about a year, I still have a LOT to learn in regards to grouping and raiding. Raiding is a whole 'nother ballgame. I'm finding it a bit intimidating and fun all at the same time.

I came back with living legacy as well. My main was always level cap before an expansion, but is now 72, but level locked atm. I brought some friends back, we all started fresh on a different server and it's been about 2 months but my friends are 62 now. That's about 2-4 hrs a day playing for the most part. I transferred my main over and waiting for them to reach my level then I will level again. With the knowledge of how to run quests for maximum experience, leveling is super easy. I'm quite shocked my friends leveled so fast!

I'm mostly a solo player/quester ... and my character normally needed around 10-13 days for max level regardless how high the max was, since with each expansion the level speed was also upped.

I lvled 2 swashbucklers to 80, both with epics. 1st one took about 6 months to get to lvl 70 (cap at that time) then about a week to hit 80 after RoK. 2nd swash took me 3 weeks and about another 3 weeks to get geared up.

I am currently lvling a coercer, its 4 days old and hit 43 today. I really don't have any fun till i hit cap, i hate not being 80, but this time i am going a little slower and not turning in so many collection quests.

As far a class thats easy to solo with, i loved it with my swashy. Kills very fast and tons of nifty tricks to survive.
