I did this encounter with:ZerkerSwashAssassinDefilerIllusCoercerMobs were dead before the next one spawned and we never had to mez a single one. DPS em down is better than mezzing em if you ask me. Thats a pretty high DPS group though.

I tried it with 1 healer and couldnt hold DPS...Guess I need to go in off stance with 2 healers?

All you have to do is survive for X amount of time while keeping the mobs from killing the apprentice in the zone. When I did it I had what is probably a less than ideal group:IllusionistAssassinDirgeFuryTemplarThe Illusionist tried to mez what he could as it popped, the rest of us tried to kill everything else. Sometimes I had 2 mobs on me, sometimes 3. We managed to live long enough to get the update but then died. That's perfectly OK as you can then revive and re-enter the zone and talk to the apprentice to finish. If you have 2 mezzers along, you should be golden. If you have a ton of DPS (that you can hold aggro against) that INCLUDES two mezzers, you should be positively golden.

We did it with:CoercerSwashieBrigandTemplarPaliNot ideal, but worked like a charm.. Paladin pulled adds if they broke mez, me, swashie, brigan burned them down. Got the ding, and died to the next mob..

Ok.. you just need 1 good illusionist and high DPS.

You need to let the illusionist do thier job... that is very key... DO NOT try and get initial aggro...

1.) you will break the mez probably at the exact same time it lands which will end up with higher aggro on the Illu than you and then you have a game of chase the Illu and his new buddy.

2.) The illu is very focused on the NEW mob... he would much rather you pull the OLD mob.

So if you go balls to the wall massive DPS on the mobs you pull and you let the illu try and keep as many mezzed as he/she can handle using the info above to try and not step on thier toes you are fine.

Keep in mind there is synergy to a group... when I say High DPS I don't mean 3 assassins.... although I suggest one. It has to be high single target DPS.... burst damage is good but really you need sustained because you will always have 1 mob being attacked.

Group should be

1.) Zerker (duh!)2.) Dirge (hate gain, some dps and defensive goodness)3.) Assassin4.) Illusionist5.) Some sort of healer... Fury or Warden are good picks due to casting times and root.6.) Either another healer (pick a healer that can at least DPS at the start when there is only 1 mob) or a Brig/Swash

EVERYONE should DPS as much as they can.... this isn't about conservation of mana... it's about fending off the hoarde.... if you start out with one mob the illu and the healers should be DPSing hard... If you are really good you might be able to kill it before the 2nd mob is up (using burst abilities... this means the Illu can help you burn through the 2nd mob also... and your healers need to be less watchful on heals and can DPS more. The KEY if you haven't caught on yet... is DPS.

Not all players are created equally... I can out DPS many wizards, warlocks, conj, and even some brig, swash, assassins, rangers etc... because of GEAR and because of SKILL. I can do it while healing from a 2nd PC. However some people playing those same classes can make my DPS look tiny. RUN A PARSER... if you see someone is practially AFK... you need to find a replacement. This isn't your normal fight... you have to be focused... NO TV... if they want to watch TV they can do it in someone else's group... save them and yourself the repair bill and frustration and kick them out asap. You will not know who is slacking and therefore you will never know why you really lost if you don't have a parser.

If everyone is wearing mastercrafted you will fail... that's by design.... all epics should be that way... if 2 of them are using master crafted but the rest have raid gear you might be OK... but I would seriously reconsider who you picked... because odds are thier DPS will not be high enough... friends are great when you want to have fun... but when you want to win you need to take the team that can do it. Your friends will understand when you rejoin them with an epic the next day and make the entire team feel stronger.
