Hi,My character is a lvl 38 ranger. He is the highest lvl I have ever had playing eq2 as I only play occasionally.Recently I've been devoting alot more time to him and I predict I'll be at lvl 40 very soon.In the past whenever I have come across other rangers around my lvl, I always find that thay have much better gear than me and also have a better knowledge of the game.So I am looking for a bit of advice about what I should be doing to prepare for life in the 40's lvl range. What quests should I be concentrating on and what items should I be thinking about obtaining for my 40's.I'm doing some quests in zek right now, am I right in thinking that the lvl 40's zone is feerott?Cheers..

I just dinged 40 as well. Grats to us both!I'm not as well learned in the game as many others. I plan on avoiding Feerrot, except for HQ's and perhaps to hit Cazic Thule and get AA discovery. I think questing in Steamfont would be better, taking one from 40 straight out to 50. I know I did it with my SK. He went to Feerrot as well, and I didn't enjoy it there at all. Steamfont for me was a kick though. Check it out.

I just hit 43 Myself.I would run Runnyeye a decent amount, they have several nice Legendary item drops in there for a Ranger. Also try to get into a DFC group (Deathfist Citadel) in Zek,this place gives tons of AA experience and has some nice drops especially after revamp. As for gear,I always work on the best Bow possable which if you are poor like me then ones like the Deathfist Bow or Tightly Woven Bow are cheap usually on the broker.(They also have a lvl 38 Legendary Bow called Longarm that you can win in DFC or they usually sell it between 30 gold to 1p on the Broker)At 46 they have a Mech Bow as a quest reward in the Steamfont Mountains (50 DPS)You may be able to get better Bows if you have lots of money but I do not.

Thanks for the advice.I have stormfire bow at the moment, would like to get get that longarm bow though, never heard of that until now.I've been trying to get a group togther to go into deathfist citadel but nobody seems interested, I have tons of quests I'd like to do that I picked up in zek that leads you to the citadel. It seems like there's hardly ever anybody around and up for grouping, I play on the splitpaw server and at normal GMT times and I've just returned after a a few years break to find that everywhere seems real quiet now.I came across a group of 3 in zek the other day that were doing what looked like the same quest I wanted to do in the mines and asked if I could join them, they said they'd "help me" do a couple of stages. After we'd completed it they just kicked me from the group!I'd said I was well up for doing the citadel but they claimed they didn't have time for that right then. 30 mins later they all headed past me in that direction....

<p>Heritage quests are a good idea if you are in a guild, as there usually groups for them around. The most important of these from a ranger point of view, at your level is the <a href="http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Flowing_Black_Silk_Sash" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">FLowing Black Silk Sash</a> from <a href="http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/The_Teachings_of_Yoru" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this quest</a>. It is commonly referred to as FBSS, of course. <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" /></p><p>Canul</p>

Might want to get jboots too. It's not gonna really help you play, but you can run faster out of combat =P
