Hello me and my GF are looking for another great Duo aside from our Brigand/Defiler set. Seems RoK mobs are a bit rough on a Brigand chain tank and the Defilers heals are not fast enough for the big hits.

So we are looking for some plate action

Our main concern is speed of Killing and Survival or fast leveling. We Duo 95% of the time and dont plan on raiding much and we have plat so Gear/Spells is not an issue.

We thought about Brawler and Druid but we may find the same thing as we get into RoK as we did with the Brig/Defiler.

So what plate tank and plate healer would do the most DPS ?

Berserker and Inquisitor ?

Besrerker and Templar?

Or is there not going to be any real DPS with any plate combo and go with the Survival or a Guard and Templar ?

Seems that a Berserker and Inquisitor may do more DPS (melee) due to Skills and AA lines? If so can someone please inform us as to how they work together ?

Anyone play a duo like thease and find the DPS fast enough?

Thanks.

With either plate-plate combo a vast majority of the DPS is going to be coming from the Zerk. Inquisitor's DPS buff will give you more benefit in that department than the Templar's +Slash/Crush/Pierce buff. Are you really set on both being plate? If not I'd go with Berserker-Fury. The Fury will put out more DPS when not stuck spam-healing. And starting at level 26 will buff both DPS AND Haste, albeit via a proc not an all-the-time buff like the Inquisitor's DPS buff.

My wife and I duo'd throughout RoK with my zerk and her inquis and it was a great combo. I was able to move from mob to mob with almost no down time with the inquisitor buffs and heals. Kurgan has a point that the fury will be able to buff your haste but as a zerk I didn't really need the extra haste and it was nice having those big heals on some of the rougher mobs.

My wife and I are currently running a Zerk/Inquis duo. We are having a great time with it.The only issue we have is that because we are both plate wearers we both need the rares to keep our armor up MC. This can be either really expensive - if you purchase the rares, or as in our case, really time consuming as we both harvest to find enough rares. We are both 40 now, and finding the Ebon needed for the next armor upgrade has become a chore. I would suggest running a plate tank and leather healer (Zerk/Fury or Warden). Of course, try to not let the healer get hit. Plus, there is the added bonus of being able to port around to the Druid Rings!
My SO and I have duo'd a Zerker/Fury for three years now We'd duo'd most of the heroic content in the game through T7. It takes an extraordinarily long time to do that compared to how fast a group can clear it, but it gives a nice perspective on just what is possible (for example we recenty defeated Bugaboo (epic x2 mob in Unrest) with 3 tanks, 2 healers and a swashie ... and only three of us were level 80.)The Fury offers nice utility (ports), buffs (haste, mitigation), and once you hit your 50's (it comes faster than you think) the duo is quite good with the AoE's Her fast heals work very well too when dealing with spike damage. If you GF absolutely wants to play a plate healer, the Inquisitor may be a slighly better choice. As a duo you need to squeeze out as much DPS as possible.
I have a 75 Inquisitor. Maybe I am biased but go with in Inquis. The DPS boost from the Inquis will turn your beserker into a food processor - slice, dice and julienne!

/em points down to his signature VVVVV

I know a bit about zerkers, furies, inquisitors... and many others. But I am fond of my healers... never leave home without one... or my zerker.

In RoK there is not much out there that will really keep you alive via heoric content as a duo if it's white.... so if that was what upset you with the brigand/defiler duo... I would say you will remain dissapointed.

To do Chardok I have to stoop to 4 boxing by borrowing an acct... Zerker, Fury, Inq, Dirge... keep in mind my gear is not "normal" gear... mastercrafted is NOT my thing. But at the same time 4 boxing doesn't exactly make me super efficient either. I would say a couple that was playing 3 accts rather than 1 guy playing 4 accts would be as effective (as me... I'm pretty good at it... sorry if that seems like I have an ego but I have been 3 boxing on and off for 7 years) given the same gear.

So if you are having issues doing HEROIC content... you need to add a toon... it's not your classes... I would add a fury... The brigand can tank just fine given the right gear and AA specs... almost as well as a zerker when in a duo. I have witnessed a brigand tanking all of CoA in RoK. I also know that same Brigand camps in Karnors castle all the time with just him and a defiler. He is NOT in master crafted though.

If you are doing solo content but in a duo... your brigand and defiler rock.... a zerker and fury would also rock and be more fun (teleports, group invis, and cheetah do A LOT to pull the monotony of travel out of the game. You already see the benefits of group invis with your current duo)

Stuff in Kunark just hits HARD.... walk up to a zerker equipped with the similar level of gear when you are logged in with your brig... compare mitigation and avoidence... I have a feeling you will be shocked. Then take into account the diminishing returns curve.... Yes a zerker will win as a tank... but we don't have "walk the plank" or your other long stun... which IMHO are invalueable tools. (I logged in my brother's brigand to help him get his fabled epic and learned that class a bit also)

I would say that you should just spend some time gearing up a bit or leveling a 3rd acct.... but I would not just swap classes and start from level 1 with no gear because I don't think it will accomplish what you think it will... RoK heroic content is hard as a duo in master crafted regardless of class.

I would not mind dual boxing a third toon IF it were free : )

I simply will not pay for another account to play 70+ content.

My GF plays the Defiler and in RoK all she does is keep wards up, spam heals and auto attack and thus she is bored.

I figured if we could match the DPS of the Brig and defiler but have better survivabillity via plate.

Thanks for the info : )

I box a wizard. T7 stuff is for the most part pretty easy with the zerk/fury/wiz. Mobs tend to die fast.We poked our heads into KC yesterday sans wizard, just to get a feel. Died almost instantly at the entrance. Mit is 57ish, avoidance just under 50 in DEF stance (end WIS line), just over 10k hps. I have all legendary gear, but it is either quest/faction or broker purchased, no instanced gear. Even when the wizzie gets to 80 I don't see how we'll be able to do any heroic RoK content. I just can't get my avoidance up high enough -- and staying in OFF stance is out of the question; there simply isn't any gear with more DEF or better yet PAR on it that I can find on the broker. Since I don't pug, that's that for my zerker unless there is a level raise at some point in the future

Karnors is ok to 3 box in... but that stuff can hit hard... I can kill 4 heroic encounters in there at once when I 3 box zerker, fury, inq and my bro plays assassin, dirge... If I move slowly or use fury grup invis I can just 3 box most of the zone...

but that's level 80's with mythical and raid gear... I would completely expect for you to have issues since I did before I got some better T8 gear.

When you hit 80 do pick up groups in that Seblis instance... that seems to be the easiest... I am half tempted to try it just 3 or 4 boxing by myself... its that easy.

If you haven't done it already get 2 wireless keyboards of the same model... hook 1 reciever to each PC... throw 1 actual keyboard as a spare into your closet... sync the keyboard to BOTH receivers.. key your nukes on your wiz to match the delays and cast times of your furies heals.. and key #1 to be to /target you and /follow you.

you can have 1 PS/2 and 1 USB keyboard on the same PC... so keep a PS/2 keyboard attached and handy for when you have to reboot or something.
