Hello me and my GF are looking for a new duo that works as good as our Brig/Defiler but different for a change of pace.

We were looking at the Brawler/Druid for the DPS or killing/Leveling speed and still be able to take on most content as a duo.

After reading a few threads in Guard and Templar forums it seems that with the right gear and AA lines a Guard/Temp can put out some good DPS and take on bigger mobs?

We duo 95% of the time and dont plan on raiding much so killing speed and survival is what we need.

Do any players play this duo? If so can you please give some advice as to AA builds or info on skill/spell tactics?

Thanks.

Kind of a boring combo, templar is kinda weak on the DPS. An inquistor has some decent buffs and dps, also their healing isn't as good as the templars but good enough.

If your not into raiding, an SK is pretty decent tank with fury to level up.

Well, that duo would be good to have at end-game for raiding, but... if thats not your target you may try what my wife and I did.

We did a zerker/fury combo. It was a great combo for fast, stable killing & utility to boot with druid rings, etc. for traveling. A zerker is a great tank at lower levels that can pump out enough dps with a fury to make for efficient and fun leveling. Its at high-end where you really begin to see some serious difference in a guard over a zerk.

Once I got into the mid 60's I betrayed to guard so that I could begin to establish my top tier of spells and such without losing any keepers and get a good feel for the changes before tanking a lot of 75+ content.

May or may not be what you're after, but something to consider along those lines...

edit-typos

Well my GF is tired of sitting back and monitoring wards/heals with the occasional tossing of a debuff or two.

She wants to melee and do some DPS.

So I figured a plate melee spec'ed cleric might fit both roles of keeping me alive and her showing up in the parser.

From what we have been told so far a Zerk/Inq might be better for leveling (more DPS) then betray at end content as it stands now.

Thanks for the imput.

Have her try a melee spec warden if she wants to fight, or a nuke spec fury if she wants to nuke. pretty much any tank class will work for you, but if she wants to do the least healing so she can do more damage, go guardian.

If she wants to melee then play a melee spec'd inqy + zerker: those 2 would be great together for your play style. Guardian would be slightly lower in DPS than the zerk but not by to much. Furies dps well as an aforementioned person wrote as do melee spec'd wardens. If its the plate duo go guard/melee spe'd inqy or Zerk Melee spec'd inqy.

Me and my husband tried this combo back when he 1st got me playing the game. At the low levels like that, without all the AA upgrades, it made it rough to do a lot of stuff. I remember doing the last AQ quest for rumblers in TS and dying A LOT because we'd run out of power before the mob was dead...and that wasn't the 1st time it had happened. Needless to say our toons got deleted at level 26.

Things may be a little different now that you can earn AA's quicker and since the gear for the lower tiers has been improved. It may be a lot easier, but that duo was rough in comparission to some of the other duos we had brought up together. Needles to say, he has a Guard to 80 and I have a Templar to 80, but we didn't do those 2 together.
