I recently installed eq2 on my laptop (IBM Lenovo T61). The machine specs are more than enough for EQ2...2 gb ram, plenty of power etc. I played eq2 fine for a month or so. Then one day a few weeks ago, eq2 downloaded some kind of an update. Ever since then, I have been unable to launch the game without a popup error about mss32.dll.As soon as I sign in and it gets ready to load the heavy graphics part of the game at initial sign on, I hear a windows DING (error message sound) and my mouse cursor changes from the eq2 cursor back into a windows cursor. At this point, none of my keys will respond or seem to do anything at all. ALT-CTRL-DEL, ALT-TAB, etc. However, if I press the SPACEBAR, it hits OK on the error message and then it does the same thing twice more (dings and I have to hit SPACEBAR to get past it). After the third SPACE, it continues to load the game and I can play just fine. One time when the computer DINGED at me, I closed the laptop lid and let it go into standby, and when I opened it up and it loaded back into windows, I am finally able to see the error message that is on the screen. I could not figure out how to see it except for closing the lid then it reveals it to me when it comes back on. The exact error says:"The procedure entry point _RIB_provider_library_handle@0 could not be located in the dynamic link library mss32.dll."The window TITLE says:"EverQuest II (Jul 2 2008 11:32:54) USER OPTIMIZED: SOEBuild=4962L : EverQuest2.exe - Entry ..."Thats all it shows. I have three computers running eq2 and the only one this started happening on was my laptop. Since I noticed this error, I have updated my video drivers and even updated to the latest direct-x.The game still works if I hit SPACE three times upon launch. Any suggestions are more than welcome. It is little more than a bother now that I know how to procede. I have even tried eq2 on the test server thinking it may have a different dll but even on the test server on this laptop I get that error. I have deleted it and let it re-download the dll also, and even performed a complete file scan.Any more suggestions are more than welcome! Thanks for any help!
