As of right now bruisers desirability on raids is really hurting.

My server has exactly 2 bruiser mythicals on it almost 10 months into the expansion.

Since SOE will not let us do our defined role of tanking on raids due to contested avoidence, nor will they up our dps to begin to rival the pure dps classes, I propose they fix our raid buff.

They could give us a nice debuff (dispatch), but that would probably overpower us in solo play as we already solo very well.

A raid buff works good here, because in groups/solo it would not be overpowering, but on raids spread among 24 people it would help out alot.

Currently our raid buff is this

Increases effectiveness of taunts and detaunts by X%

Increases damage of combat arts by X.

Sure it looks good on paper, but the problems is that most who raid already have their combat arts damaged capped and it does nothing for primary casters.

The taunts/detuants is not needed either in the context of capped dirge/coercer hate buffs and scout hate transfers. Also taunts can not be modified like auto attack and CA can, you can not "crit" a taunt.

Alot of raid tanks dont even bother taunting and hold aggro thru dps and the hate buffs/aggro transfers.

A raiding zerker told me that tuants were only 5% of his aggro generation. 20% of 5% is a measly 1% for a total of 6%. Very useless.

Bascially the bruiser raid buff is not desired on raids.

Monks however have carved themselves a niche with their nice raid buffs and most raid guilds include at least 1 monk per raid because of it.

The monk raid buff at M1 level:

Increases casting speed of raid and group members (AE) by 14.4%

Increases attack speed of raid and group members (AE) by 24%

I propose that the in order to help bruiser raid desirability the cry/brutality line at M1 level be changed to

Increase reuse timer of raid and group members by 14.4%

Increase dps of raid and group members by 24%

This would perfectly compliment the monk buff and and give raids a reason to include a bruiser.

Think about it, dirge buffs dps, troub buffs haste, coercer dps, illy haste, monks can buff haste and and cast speed, bruisers could buff dps and reuse speed.

I approve this message.
I agree in theory except the numbers are a little high. DPS is more valuable then haste imo so something like 15 +/- 5 or so might be more balanced. And there are very few reuse reduction items/buffs available, making it more valuable then casting speed so I would think lowering that to at least 10ish % would be more fair. Athough I do like the idea alot, someone with more knowledge then me would have to tweek the numbers to make it feasable imo.

Both can be cappped. 15% more swings or 15% more damage when those swings land. Seems to be kinda of a wash to me.

Only thing with haste is that weapon delay never drops below a certain level.

The reason why DPS is more valuable than haste is because it is more rare. SO many classes give large haste buffs, and so few gives DPS. Especially in the high end raiding scene. Illusionists' haste buff becomes groupwide, Templars' Aegolism eventually gives group haste, and with cacaphony of blodes being raidwide, having 2 dirges with VP gear gives yoru raid perma CoB with alot of haste. I always have around 140 haste in raid, and typically only have around 60 dps. Inquisitors and Coercers only have single target buffs for DPS leaving dirges group buff the only way to mass buff dps. There are 2 classes that do raidwide haste (Mythical dirge and monk), but no classes that raidwide dps buff.

Another thread on this?

HAS A DEV EVEN RESPONDED TO ANYTHING YET? NOT THAT I HAVE SEEN.

It does seem that dps mods are much harder to attain than haste. It would be nice if bruisers could give a dps mod again as a buff. Wasn't it like +25 dps mod on rabid cry back before the change? So bruising cry could have +35 dps mod.

Bruisers used to have a group buff that gave dps of 28 if I remember corectly and even then nobody gave a hoot about Bruisers and their dps buffs. The dps buff should be atleast 30 or maybe even 35.
