I seem to be getting whooped to much! lolWith my warden I can solo even con ^^^'s and my SK I have problems with ^^^'s 5 levels lower then myself. Now I know its not really a even compare as far as classes go but it gets kind of annoying. I recently started playing again am lvl 36 and only have 9 AA points atm and have them going to the spell crit/int line. Is this the best way to go or should I work down the reaver line first? My gear is "decent" but I dont wanna blow the money on feysteel as I want to get ebon when I hit 42.

Int line then reaver. 9 AA's is terrible for your level and part of the problem.

Sk soloing is very gear dependent. With out a full set of MC armor, I doubt you will be able to solo blue ^^^

Remember that a ^^^ is geared to be an appropriate challenge for a group of 3 or more. So when you are trying to solo one, you will need at least Mastercrafted and Adept 3s (preferrably Masters) as well as a good deal of practice (skill if you will) in your chosen class.

Honestly, if you are in subpar gear, I am surprised you can kill heroics at all.

You didn't mention whether you were s/b or 2h, but I have found that I could take tougher stuff with sword/board in offensive stance- you should always be in offensive stance- the shield gives you a nice stun that will give you time to cast blessings- and without reaver I'm betting you need to use blessings a lot during fights.

You can now earn AA xp from completing grey quests. It is the same amount of AA xp you would earn if the quest was yellow to you. The absolute easiest way to get some AAs would be to finish all the grey and green quests in your journal. Heck, may as well go to Mok Rent in Timorous Deep and do the quests there. No need to mentor. You should get AAs at a decent rate with the few you have.

If the quest is at least level 10, you should get AA for it.

Getting AA's for those characters that were created before EoF is difficult for most and I'm guessing this is your problem. Most characters created after then seem to get their AA's way faster (just more AA content for us these days) but it doesn't help that you've already spent 20+ levels earning very little AA xp. The absolute best way to earn fast AA is explore new areas and kill named. Sure there's some alright AA from completing quests, but nothing compares to jumping into a group with people in an unfamiliar place, killing yellow ^^^ heroics, and killing every named you come across. If that's not possible for you (so understandable because who wants an SK these days) "fast AA" isn't really an option. Quests take time and soloing your own AA's takes time. If you want to catch your AA up to your level, you might be better off disabling adventure xp and do all the questing you can (even the grey ones as mentioned).

Soloing as an SK is very gear/spell intensive. Being a hybrid means you have to have the best of both worlds to really shine. If you get only spells, you'll do ok damage but go down real fast (just like mages). Gear is where you should be concentrating the money you can get. MC gear helps out so much for each tier and if you can't get it just yet, this might be another good reason to disable your avdenturing xp because bigger better MC gear just costs more and more as you get higher level.

As an SK, you don't have the tools your druid has to solo as efficently. You have to get in it's face and outlast it. A good rule of thumb is to watch your mana versus the mob's HP. If you run out of power and the mob(s) still has a good amount of life, you're pretty much reviving unless you can pull a rabbit outta your hat. Always keep your blessing spell up as often as you can (damaging-life tapping ward) and invest in mana regen totems...you'll need them.

As far as AA spec...4-4-8 INT first and foremost. That increases your damage and yes, taps life back to you at a better rate. Reaver is really not worth it at the lower end (at least in my opinion as it's so-so even at 80), but some people swear by it's usefulness for soloing so take it for what it's worth. I think the general concensus is to get reaver after maxxing out your crit spell damage in the crusader tree, but even that's still a ways off for you and what you've got atm. More AAs will only help you solo better, but really doesn't help you now so I'd say you're goign the right route atm...just stick with it and things will get easier, but for now you're fighting an uphill struggle.
