I have no technical problems with EQ2 at the moment. Even those pesky out_of_memory_requesting crashes ceased months ago. I do wonder, however, what sort of sound quality folk get using the combo of Vista (64-bit in my case), a Creative X-fi sound-card, Alchemy, a 4.0 or better speaker setup, and the game set to use EAX4.I get decent basic directional multi-channel sound with no overt distortion. What seems to be lacking is source distance volume varience for things like approaching mobs/NPCs and non-moving objects like a torch or campfire (as I approach or leave them). These more of less remain silent until very near, then appear at full or nearly full volume. Is this a common issue with Alchemy, EAX in general, or the game itself? If not, what settings do you use to satisfactory volume fade with distance? My EQ2 Alchemy profile is modified thusly (to avoid distortion):-Buffers 4-Duration 15-Max Voice Count 128Thanks in advance!-Roybob
