How many original Zerkers are left?

<p>I used to post to this board a lot trying to get some attention paid to the zerker issues. Back then there were a lot of regulars, but I don't see them posting anymore. I've since moved onto a new character and have mothballed my zerker. </p><p> Just out of curiousity, are there still any zerkers posting here that have been active on these boards since launch, or have they all rerolled/quit/betrayed as well?</p>

<p>Well I am no elite zerker but I created my zerker on Jan 7 06 and I haven't betrayed him. He is however mostly inactive since Aug 07. I do play him occasionally but it is mostly solo. I do wish to begin finshing out to lvl 80 and he is currently lvl 76.</p><p>I know this is just a question about how many are left but here are my reasons why I do not play my zerker as I once did.</p><p>Main reason I slowed down my play with him is the lack of snap aggro. Dps wise I feel he is good, but not having any aa's that could enhance taunts for aggro control just made my zerker take a back seat to other tanks that can do this. From other players stand point I understand why I recieved so much hades as a tank because of my lack of aggro control. I have to face reality and other dps players are not willing to give any tank any time to generate aggro before they start unloading. My biggest hurt is if I did die and was rezzed I had no way of getting the aggro back if rescue was down. Guards just do a better job there.</p><p>I think zerker survivability is where it needs to be. I don't think it would be proper for a zerker to have good dps and have defensive abilities along side of this. I think the separating factors for fighters are either a more offensive or defensive tank but not both. In my eyes zerkers should be the offensive tanks. Some of the fighters have both currently and this is where I think  the disparity lies in the who is who among fighters.</p><p>I miss playing my zerker alot. I enjoyed tanking when I could and last year was offered an mt position in our guild. I was blessed to mt two raids and did ok but our leader decided to betray his zerker to guardian and be the mt while I was to offtank. Needless to say he loved his zerker but told me that the guardian really has the upper hand in the raid tanking area and he proved it. Again I have no problems with guardians being raid mt's but where I lost out on my zerker was in the aggro department and a bit less defense but that is understandable. I would just like some aggro tools for my zerker.</p>

Created my 'zerker March 05 and still playing him. Don't raid, don't pug, but he still gets a lot of play time mainly mentoring alts (I two box a wizard alt a lot). Here since launch, but didn't create my Berserker until 3 months after launch. He's been my main ever since.There's not a ton to say in our class forums really. Same things have been broken for a while and the balance issues have been covered quite thoroughly.

here since launch.have raided and completed every mayjor raid questline since T5 ( i still miss being one of the only people on server with a glowing prismatic weapon =P )took a 3 month break trying to switch my main to an assassin... but got frustrated trying to find a good gaurd/pally offtank so im back and im staying.

<p>Been a berserker since launch.    Initially berserkers were a great class to play.  But other classes which already had special abilities (sow, stealth, tracking etc), wanted not only DPS, but they wanted the melee DPS the Berserkers had.  So, SOE in its infinitessimal wisdom decided to gut the berserker class because after all, plate warriors should only have one role with no other option available.  That role, based on philosophy from the wretched Brad McQuaid days of EQ1, was that plate warriors were meat shields, end of story.    I have held on thinking, hoping really that the twisted pseudologic which spawned that change would go away and they would restore berserkers to their rightful place in melee DPS. Such has not been the case.</p><p>But, that's SOE in a nutshell.  Sell the game by touting game features that they take away after people start playing the game.  They pulled that stunt in both SWG and EQ2.</p><p> The bottom line is, do not ever believe SOE marketing and when it comes right down to it, because you cannot trust SOE to do what they say, you would be better off not playing any SOE product.</p><p>The real shame is that EQ2 had huge potential and SOE squandered that.   They have no credibility left and I don't know what they can do to get it back, but the world of mmogs is quite large now and SOE is considered a joke. Not because they don't have the ability to make a good game, but because they do not have the ability to run a good game.  </p>

<p>Created my zerker on release day, dont play alts and worked my way through the class & sub-class quest and dinged level 20 as a Zerker on Nov 29, 2004. Im not uber, my guild just got past Druushk 2 nights ago but I do see my mythical coming soon.</p><p>There has been alot of changes to Zerker over the years and sadly most of them have been bad. I read the forums regulary and with the most recent input from the community 70% of it are valid. Its very dis-heartening to see that nothing has been done.</p>

Day one Berserker here- well, day one fighter with intentions of becoming a Berserker anyway <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  I've never been anything but a Berserker and don't intend to change any time soon.  Yes, I have alts, but they're just alts.  I can't say I've completed every major quest line and done every raid zone (at least not at the appropriate level) since I took eighteen months off from the game to go to Iraq.

Started my zerker on day three of launch.  He was my main for first 1.5 years, but I shelved him in favor of my dirge.  Just started playing him again and have gotten him to 74.

Started my Zerker back in summer of 05. Had to take a year and a half out at the beginning of last year due to family illness. When I quit last year I was pretty much fully mastered, fabled and Legendary level 70 (was before RoK) and setup as DPS although sometimes had to emergency tank (which I could still do) when our guilds other tanks went down.I'm back now, still haven't got RoK but had to quit my guild and move back to my own smaller family non raiding guild. I still tank where required but I'll never betray. I'm a zerker through and through. I've seen some ups and seen some downs but the class is the best I've ever played in a MMORPG. Far too enjoyable to stick open wounds and destruction on and see all those numbers fly! I was disappointed to see we'd been knocked senseless with the nerf bat on my return but I'll stick with it until I eventually give up on the game.I have since made an assassin class which I'm leveling up slowly (and after years of playing a tank in both eq1 and eq2 it has taken some serious getting used to LOL) and although I'm probably using the assassin more these days my Zerker is still my main and still used on a very regular basis. I hope the issues that our beloved class has get resolved but like I said earlier I'm a Zerker through and through and I don't see that ever changing however hard they try to knock us down!Keo.

Rolled my Berserker May 10 2006 (couple months after I started playing EQ2 - always been an alt). Retired for a bit, but back into it now. The class needs some love from Sony, but I still stand by it. <p>I started my zerker shortly after the game went live. I'd played one for a year in EQ1, and was full of glee that we could dual-wield rather than be limited to 2handers. But wasn't sure about wearing plate, or that the designers could make plate that wouldn't have me sneering all the time. In the end I could rationalise the wearing of plate, and while the designers messed up with that weird lump added on shoulder plates and have that moronic groin plate that'd prevent even walking let alone anything more strenuous, for the most part it looked fine enough to lure the main I expected to become a monk over to being a zerker instead. </p><p>I shan't betray. However negligent the devs are to zerker issues, I'd sooner delete the character than be a guardian. The concept of them does nothing for me, I'd not want to log in to that character. They're like eunuch zerkers, and I ain't chopping none of that off.  </p>

<p>I started on a PVP server in early 06 (a buddy got me started there), but hated it and deleted the toon. My first toon on PVE was my zerk and I love it. Have never betrayed, but stopped playing him for the better part of a year. I have to say, I love the latest changes and have played him a lot since TSO release.</p>

<p>My zerker has been around since Nov 15th 2004, ive been off and on playing but i have no plans to ever switch her to guardian, she will stay berserker no matter how shafted or gimped they become. I eagerly await the changes in GU51.</p>
