Sapphirius

Sapphirius walked around Qeynos staring at the worker's sledgemallet she'd acquired from Jarsath. A grinning face decorated the face of the hammer, and the shaft was thick and sturdy mahogany decorated with a strange gold emblem upon the end. She went over what she'd been told. When she swung it at someone and actually hit them it would have a one in two chance of sending her to Darnak Shipyard in the Jarsath Wastes. The question was who to hit? She could easily find some gnolls outside the city, but her skill had grown to such that one swing would kill them. She would need a sturdier target. Walking out of the broker's building in South Qeynos she spotted the dwarf standing guard by the gate to North Qeynos."Lady Zand!" He said as she approached, and then he saluted her."What's your name?" she asked him."Urath, me lady."Sapphirius smiled at him warmly, a calculating look in her eye. "I shall write the Qeynos Guard to raise your pay then, Urath.""Oy, me lady, that be very generous of ye, but what fer?""I need to go to Jarsath," she replied."Why o' course, me lady," he replied with a grin, "But I ain't sure how ye gonna get ta Jarsath with me help.""Oh, you'll be plenty helpful. All you have to do is hold still." She held out the worker's sledgemallet, brought it back, and then swung it out, smacking Urath on the shoulder with it."Oh, that's going to leave a mark," Selwyn said to her apprentice where they always stood to give out leather armor. Her apprentice just cringed and was immensely grateful Sapphirius had not seen them under the tree.Sapph looked at her hammer and frowned. "It didn't work.""O' course it didna work! What are ye doin?""The hammer is supposed to take me to Jarsath. One more try," she said as she swung out again. The dwarf dodged her blow."'Ey! That actually hurts ye know!""So rub some spit in it and take it like a man," she replied. "Now, hold still!" She swung the hammer at Urath again. This time, a golden glow surrounded her, and she felt herself being pulled away. Where she stood was nothing left but glowing golden rings of light. Urath blinked, rubbed his eyes, and blinked again. Perhaps he'd had a little too much to drink last night after all. He must have been hallucinating. As the golden light faded away, a froglok hopped out of the broker's building, spotted Urath, and hopped forward."Say, good sir," he began. "Wouldst thou mind holding still a tick?" The froglok pulled out a worker's sledgemallet just like Sapphirius's."This so ain't worth it fer a pay raise," the dwarf muttered.
