<p>Ok so what this is about is the fact that we could use a race change service. Same as we have the server transfer, name change, etc.</p><p>Why? well a lot of ppl start a race with a specific class just to find out in the mid 50s that they hatew the race they play. Then u need to either delete that character(and that sux after spending money and time on it) or jsut play a toon they hate.</p><p>My ideea is to make a service that costs USD(like 50$) and u can change your race to whatever else you want.</p><p>It ain't game braking since u don't change spells and all and it is already available in the form of the Petrified Eyes. Now all SOE would have to do is make a option on the website where u can pay fitty bucks and turn your rat into a human or your troll into a elf, etc...</p><p>I understand that a CLASS change would be a nono since a lot of clases are easy to get to 80 and some ar harder etc so that would prolly be used for cheating... like lvl-ing a Fury to 80(easy easy easy) and then turning it into a thief or something hard to lvl... </p><p>But the race change would not touch the game in any bad way, SOE would make a few more bucks and we would be happy campers and not stuck with playing a toon that we hate...</p><p>I know, i know... we have the pertified eyes! BUT u can't change the look of the petrified eye illusion... There is a standard look and ur stuck with it and that look is usually the worste look of the race...</p><p>Not to mention that it's a illusion that only lasts 6 hours and the bones u need to cast the illusion are not cheap at all... Most know, the rest will find out that in order to cast a Pertified (insert race here) Eye u need a bone from that race and most bones cost over 2g on the broker and are a [Removed for Content] to find if u want to farm them yourself...</p><p>So what ya say Sony? can we gave a service that allows us to change our race for good? </p>

with the way the database stores characters, no. race is tied heavily to the character files and to change that would basically mean deletion. onley saying whats been told the last who knows how many times this gets brought up. dont mean to sound bitter so sorry about that.

I would love to make my wood elf ranger into a Ratonga ranger.  I wouldnt mind if they wiped him and made him completely naked with all app 1 skills.  And dont give me sh*t about "oh its tied to so many skills" just for the fact that they wipe your skills all the time.

Race and Class are tied into the base game mechanics of this game. You can't change them. Besides, there are faction issues involved, not to mention stats, racial skills, and the fact that it's just plain creepy and wrong to change over to another race after the whole server has gotten used to who you are.

I saw one that quoted Kirstie from a dev chat stating something to the effect that the only race respec we were gonna get was "Create Character". I dunno where to find the original Dev Chat transcripts to confirm it. I think this request has about the same potential to happen as Adventure Class respec... dismal. </p>

I think it's time to remove that requirement, no?

Would changing gender be completely ridiculous though? I don't think anything in the game is effected faction wise by what gender you are. I personally regret making my toon a boy. I know the "dev's" said it was hard but they have a tendancy of saying that anytime here is something they don't want to do, but if it is something they want to do they always seem to say it's easy and it won't take long yet in reality it normally isn't as easy as they say it is. /sigh sorry personal experience here</p><p>As to the feature of changing race/gender. /shrug it shouldn't be a big issue really either way. I mean seriously there shouldn't be any overpowered races that would overshadow other races, and gender /shrug it's not really my thing to change genders but I could see someone decideding they would like something different.</p><p>So while I don't think personally this would be hard, I just have very little desire to even support such a thing and would rather the dev's focus on issues that would effect more folks not just 10-100 folks.</p>

I see nothing wrong with race/gender changes, As said before theres nothing OP about any one race. Ive RPed an ogre SK for 80 levels lets say... Raid geared and fully just plain decked out. Lets assume this is Either Lucan or Antonica popular RP servers. I decide, ya know what, I want to be a Human Female... So I pop an SOE potion ( created by gnomes no doubt)) and Oh! look, a Human Female Shadowknight... er I would ask them to toss ina name change too, lol

Have not seen anyone address evil toons becoming good aligned characters while still evil, or vice versa. =P
