I know some of you will strongly disagree with my suggestion, but I believe the models for the three elven races should be reworked. They are pretty good models, but I just feel like they should be changed to be a bit more similiar to the elven models in Felwithe. They just look alot more elven to me, if you don't know what I'm talking about, run into Felwithe real quick and check out the Renda'Dal...they look so much more polished and new then the current elves. I just think SOE should think about re-working their elves.

Oh, I found a screenie of one of the Renda'Dal, although his eyes are nearly popping out of his head (scroll down to the bottom of the page)

http://eq2.mondespersistants.com/?article=117

Who here agrees with me?!

I think you might possibly hear a lot of flack for this. I know this had been suggested before and there was a huge arguement over ear size. I personally don't mind either or. Soga, Standard, or the Renal'Dal Model I honestly think the "elven look" is consistent with all of them.

Yeah. Honestly, if SOE ever does rework the elves I hope the ear size stays realistic and not WoW like . I just mean't I wanted them to look newer and everything, like their other newer NPC elves.

I like my high elves as they are now, thanks. (non-soga, and entirely female) I do want better fashion, but I vastly prefer the player model for high elves than the one displayed in that screenshot.

The picture of the queen...that's what highelf females (non soga) look like now. yay. I like it.

The second picture is a vampire, not an elf.

Third picture...well he just looks a bit scary heh.

The female elves in New Tunaria (save the queen I guess) just look freaky. Not in a big ears I'm an anima elf kind of way but ...freaky. Their eyes are wierd (like the valkeries in everfrost, they have crazy eyes). They look pretty horribly plastic as well, I like them much much less than I like soga & I have no love for those either. I don't think they look 'polished' at all honestly. Have some nice hairstyles and some nifty clothing, but the skin & face (at least of the females since those are the ones I've spend a bit of time looking at) just is not right and kind of gives me the creeps to be honest.

That model is creepy and I don't like creepy. Nothing else to add unless I can use the word creepy again.
Sorry, no thanks. I for one don't see a need to rework my elves. I'd love to have more options as far as proportions, hair styles, jewelry, and anything else that adds more individuality. I don't want big eye gouging ears. Or freakish body and facial features. Other than the Queen (who looks like a normal High Elf to me) the rest look like vampires.

In other words they are supposed to look creepy and vampire-ish. Which means I would not expect the Player Models to ever look like that.

The NPC models of non-playable races are generally far less polished/detailed than the PC models. That is the main reason they don't look quite as good. With that in mind, I think a more polished version of the New Tunaria type of high elf could actually look really good. They have the right height, body build and look in general far more elven like than those original "dwarf-elf" PC models in EQ2, in my opinion. But then again, I'm a Tolkien fan...Personally, I'm kinda happy with things the way they are, though. I'll admit that there are some of the original models I just can't stand (like the male human/elf models and ogres), but then I just use SOGA/alternate models on those. Problem solved.
