This is really for the devs.....I know they think we are a tanking class...but...please help.

Ok, I have always maintained we can tank any heroic Instance/Dungeon. But I am begining to wonder about that myself......

Looks like we can't do RE 2. Have any of you tanked that the whole way through? I would imagine it could be done if one is raid geared and have a perfect group. But as far as picking up a group and hitting it, that seems out of the question. I could give you stories, but why bother. I am sure others here understand, or maybe I am just in the minority...never the less, stories won't matter.

The other issue I am seeing is, we can't handle too well high end agro. I have seen myself and other Brawlers struggle with high end adds in Lower Seb and other places. We just get tore up. On the other side of the coin, I have been to those same places with an SK and watched them pull multiple mobs at once which would have killed me. 2-3 yellow ^^^ at a time. If I had 2-3 yellow^^^ on me, that would be all she wrote.

Same with Chelsith. If we are fighting an ooz and the floating things attack, or another mob adds, very bad news. It is a toss up if I will make it or not. If I stay in Def stance....better chance...but agro control sucks from that stance due to so many misses on CA's.

Plate tanks do much better in these zones than I do. Bottom line. And yea, I know a troll will tell me I suck...blah blah blah...but up until those zones, I was a regarded tank. Now, I am not really highly regarded there...and rightly so. It is a bummer.

We are a subpar tank. I am comin to gripes with it. I am fine if I can keep a controled envirerment in these places, but if we get adds, it is tough to keep me alive.

Now, I know some of you prolly group with the same people over and over and you can do things I can't couse of a great group...I get that. I am not talking about that. I am talking about picking up a decent group and having fun. That is a large part of the game. Compared to plates...we are not as good. period. I have seen it with thine own eyes.

So, there I have it. Sadly.

I am raid geared and can tank RE2 with ease, with only 1 healer, and I think that a non raid geared bruiser should be able to tank any heroic content, including RE2 with ease provided they have certain criteria met.

First off, I'd suggest you Try and get the best tanking pieces available. This means 3% parry and riposte adornments for wrists and weapons (slashers only). Certain adornments can really help and are worth the price, also get yoru +12 DPS adornments for ranged and neck slots.

Additionally, I hope you are specced down the WIS line, as you will have extra help holding AoE aggro. Crane flock especially is very good in RE2. Bruisers have the capability to do very good on multiple mobs, even out of encounter. With the Wisodm line we have 3 Blue AoE's, and then crane flokc as a temp... if you hit lightning fists and knockout beforehand you will put out even more damage to multiple mobs. Now you want to make sure your group is assisting you, or a designated Main Assist... otherwise your doomed regardless.

And lastly, group setup helps a ton. If you are tanking you will usually want 2 healers. Not too many healers excel at solo-healing that zone. Additionally, Try to always have a dirge with you, as their buffs are just wonderful for a bruiser in all respects. Pickup groups generally have bad luck though, simply because you don't know everyone... and if they are a good player or if they pay attention enough. Alot of folks tend to slack off in pickup groups, so I'd suggest finding the players that you feel play well and try to schedule yoru RE2 runs for the same time each day and try to get a static group for it. That will seriously double yoru chances of success.

Also, I dunno if this will apply to you, but I tank all heroic content in offensive stance for better aggro. I don't know if you are doing that or not, but if your loosing aggro I'd say go offensive all the way.

hey Crabby....

You are making my point here. Yea, maybe if I had everything just right gear wise...but right now, I am set pretty good...about as good as I can get san raid gear. For heroics, I shouldn't be getting eaten alive when a plate tank with less gear than I have does just fine.

So yea, theoretically, I should be able to tank it, but I can't...and neither can my guild leader, who is a vet from EQ1 onward. We both have about the highest level gear possible in Legendary. We have not raided T8 yet much...guild needs to grow a bit with alts and so on...

But to see how well plates do, and I ain't talkin bout Warriors...I am talking Crusaders, who are not known for being uber tanks and blow me out of the water survival wise. I can tank CoA, Vaults just fine. Maidens is tough and RE2 is very tough...impossible right now for Brawlers I know.

This isn't a rant, really just want the devs to be aware of this. Something is wrong with this picture for sure.

Most of the time I try to run with a warden as one of my healers so I can stay in full defensive. I hate using defensive because I can't hit for nothing but with the warden I seem to do better than without. It can be an enduring run as far as aggro is concerned but for the most part I do ok.

I haven't tried RE2 with my bruiser so I can't comment on that.

My bruiser is mostly only legendary. A few fabled bits. I'm only 10.2k hp self-buffed. I went into RE2 with a group a while ago and died on the first pull in about 5 seconds =)I felt like quite the [Removed for Content]. We tried again, similar results, this time I lasted 12 seconds (twice as good!!). But then one of the group mates logged his character and logged in as his zerker. This guy had almost all T8 fabled gear. I thought this was our ticket. This guy managed to get 3 pulls into the zone before he died. So he did do better than me, but he still couldn't stand up to the mobs. So what am I getting at here? Group make-up is important no matter what tank you have. Plates will do better because they're plates. But we can still do everything they do. But since this fabled out zerker couldnt' do it, made me realize that it wasn't just me.

HE really had a hard with 2 healers. EH was the only Fabled player in the group and we got pretty far, but still, that zone is just plain ole sick. So, it too made me feel better.

However, I guess the point is, as tanks, others other than fully fabled guards should be able to tank the zone in a nice PUD.

Just my .02

It is a rough zone, and thankfully so. Too much content in the game can be done with PUGs in treasured gear.

I haven't tanked RE2 completely myself but I have picked up mobs when the MT has gone down and tanked it fine. Realize thats without MT buffs so I have no doubt I could do it.I've tanked every instance (less RE2) will little issues. I've had bubble adds while killing the big ozze mob and have been both wiped and victorious. The mob that gives me the most issue is Drusella in Maidens. Mainly because my riposte is so high. I've turned my back to her but in the end it just seems easier to let a plate tank MT her.

I like that it is a real hard zone. And I don't want it to be any easier. I guess my issue here is, unless you are all Fabled, you ain't gonna tank RE2. Not happening. And even then, not even sure. Like I said, the Fabled Guard we had was having issues too.

SO, I know we can't tank as well as Guards, nor should we.......but I would think we should be able to tank any heroic instance. It's kinda been my mantra all along. Now, we really can't do it all though.

Also, Lower Sebillis may be too tough too. I have not tanked it but have been with Brawlers very well equipt and with alot of experience who got owned in 2 places. One was with the named Golum ant the other was in the hallway heading to the final room. Our problem was we didn't have enough dps to kill fast enough to get through before repops. So, we were gettin adds alot. The Brawler got chewed up with 2 healers. Couldn't take on 2 at once.

I think in general, if we get 2-3 yellow or orange mobs on us, we are in big trouble. On the otherhand, I have seen Crusaders handle these with somewhat ease with simular leveled gear as Brawler. We just seem to be on the low end of the totem pole a bit in some of there harder areas.

Like Junuro said, the Sisters are a major problem fer us. I have never beaten them either. The Poison mob is also a major problem.

So, what am I saying...just that Ithink our tanking is of concern to me now. It seems we can't really tank a whole highend heroic zone in Leg gear.....Maidens and RE2. Just saying......
