I've been playing around with the classes since I came to this game, trying to find a break from my norm that worked well all around, and was wanted in endgame situations.. in the end.. looks like i'm going to end up back where I started.. Guard in lotro, makes well for a guard in eqIInow questions:1.) I don't know if it's just the low levels, but i've been soloing 1-20 on all my other chars ((been jumping around alot and only gotten to 19, so.. i'm a nub, be gentle :3) -- Guards in LOTRO had a damage stance that put them in good dps, allowed for fairly good soloing -- How are guards in this game? will soloing be slow enough to make me wanna stab myself in the hand?2.)) AA's.. looking at them, seems stamina is the way to go, easy.. then.. wis maybe? input would be nice.3.) Goes without saying I suppose, but I guess guards in this game are gear dependant to no end? i.e. can expect to have empty pockets often?

While it takes the mob a while to take you down, it also will take you a while to take them down. There is an Offense & Defense stance as well in EQ2 for Guards, but I'm unsure on what level you get those.2.)) AA's.. looking at them, seems stamina is the way to go, easy.. then.. wis maybe? input would be nice.If you're planning Buckler for shield, yes - Stamina would be key. It'll add a good deal of dps once some points are spent in the line. There's a sticky about AA lines, but I think the early posts are outdated, so take a peek at the last few posts, some have posted some good setups. I'm currently Sta/Wis myself. I'll be taking a few points off Wis soon to add into Str so I can get a little higher melee crit chance.3.) Goes without saying I suppose, but I guess guards in this game are gear dependant to no end? i.e. can expect to have empty pockets often?Yes! lol Get in good with an Armorsmith and you'll cut down significantly on costs. Maybe try to harvest the rares needed and that'll cut down costs as well. I've seen the broker have great prices for a new set, and I've seen some obscene stuff. Try to squeeze out as many levels as you can before upgrading.
Probably not tons help, but I tried. Imagine some other Guards will pop in and give some extra insight. Good luck!

If you just want to solo you're better off playing something else.
guards can solo quite well even at low levels, put some effort into getting AA's go str/sta/int like everyone that doesn't want to [Removed for Content] themselves does get a good one handed MC has become extremely good and the wood ones are cheap and read eq2flames.com/guardians and get away from the people on these forums that either dont play the class or did a couple years ago don't know if they get an offensive stance at low levels? don't roll a guard if you want to solo? fights take too long? guards can top parses! this isn't DoF anymore

Luag, please the next time someone /shouts for DPS for an instance group, tell them you'll bring your Guard (not to MT but to DPS) and see what the response is.
