Hi, fairly new to the game, rolled a swashy at first, heard they solo'd well, were wanted in groups, and did well endgame.. got him to 12.. and.. can barely solo a white without faceplanting if I don't get the jump on them from stealth ((which if the mob is a scout, or I have to click to summon, ain't happening.))So someone suggested I roll a bruiser, and frankly, LOVING it. not quite as strong on the ambush, obvious not being a scout, but can handle mobs without a problem, and downtime is ALOT better, not to mention it's fun to just run and beat the living hell out of everything.however few things bothering me..1.) How are bruisers endgame? was a conversation in the 1-9 chat on raids earlier, and I asked and the question as just kind of avoided.. which worries me, 'cause no matter how much I love it, if I can't get groups to do all the fun stuff end game, I think I should find another way to go >_>;2.) How is the strength AA line? fighting barehanded cause i'm in TD, and haven't had a chance to hit the broker, and my hands are alot more powerful than the quest rewards i've gotten so far -- but I understand that's giving up two effective equipment slots statwise.. so.. not sure how that works out.m(-_-)m Thanks in advance.

bruisers can dps and tank. only problem is raid, they don't bring enough dps/buffs compared to other classes to be really usefull but you need at least one monk or bruiser on raids, the agi AA endspell is really usefull.

the str line is great on low levels because you won't find great weapons but on higher levels, it may become weaker. so for me, stick with it right now, you'll change later on (lvl 70+) I think.

We are one of the best soling classes out there, we can tank any instance in the game and bring very respecable DPS to the table. So most groups love to have us around. So, you will have a ton of enjoyment with this class!

As far as the raid thing goes.....

If you are in a hard core raiding guild, you may end up being snuffed out for another class that can add more to the group as a whole. However, there are still a ton of raids you can do and be wanted in just fine. At the very high end of the raiding game though, at this point, we are not as sought after as other classes. But, as someone who has been around a while, there will be a fix at some point. Since you are just starting out, I am sure by the time you get into high end raiding, you will be just fine.

Again, if you are in a guild that is more casual and is starting to raid, you will have no issues. On my server, there are lotts of pick up raids that take any class and do fine. So, is it a bit of a problem....yea...but is a great problem...I wouldn't say so. there is plenty of raids you can do as Bruiser.

The Monk class is the alternative right now. They are pretty much in good shape all around as far as raiding goes. So, if you want the no brainer right now, then Monk would be the best choice....but be aware......they paint there toe nails at night and the men squat when they pee.

Ok I will give my opinion. At the lower lvls a bruiser will possibly be the coolest, meanest, roughest, toughest, dps fighter there is. This is due to the fact that the other fighters stat buffs since the numbers are so low will not be as huge of a benefit to them until the late 50's. Now once the other fighters do get up in lvls they really start to shine as and the bruiser will not be as outstanding as once was at the lower lvls.

Just some things to point out.

Bruisers cannot self buff haste/dps mods like other fighters. This can be a hinderance at times but bruisers still do decent dps without all those abilities and if a bruiser ever gets "buffed" from other support classes like an illusionist, dirge, troubador, ect. then they should be dpsing higher than the other fighters since they have more headroom to grow. Example: some monks in ROK with equipment are self hasted at 150 points of haste. While this is a great thing to have this kind of haste it will only allow 50 more points and then the monk cannot get any more use of haste.

Bruisers are great everyday Norrath tanks but will lack survivability if fighting mobs 2-4 lvls higher than the bruisers current lvl especially if mobs are epics.

Bruisers can still be on raids. I personally feel that what Pnaxx said is correct. However there is a trueth that bruisers are not a class that raids actually want. Monks are better in that department. Best thing to do is be a great everyday Norrath tank and more so be a great person and make friends. That alone will be monumental in your end game success.

I am sure changes are in store to get bruisers back in the line up dps and group wise and I am patiently waiting that arrival. I enjoy my bruiser very much and no other class has been able to satify my need of what my bruiser does for me.

As for the strength line I personally find it a good line for lvling up just as 90% of all brawlers out there, but would like for it to be something that could be used with weapons as well.

Oh and once a bruiser hits lvl 65....yeah I know that is a long wait, but we do get knockout combination. This combat art alone will separate a bruiser from all other fighters with huge burst damage. Only downfalls are waiting till lvl 65 to get it and it has a very long reuse timer, but basically what it does is adds more damage on top of each successful combat art with a 1 sec stun/stifle. So if knockout is active each time you land a combat art say for 1500 damage it will also add 350-700 additional damage (this can critical as well and be higher) and the stun. This is the one ability that makes me stay a bruiser hehe.

Have fun with it!
