installing xp sp2

i hope this is the right sectionsince im pretty sure you need sp2 to run this game i need to download it. I just did a clean install of XP since i was having serious virus issues..My problem is i just installed sp2 on desktop, i rebooted my pc and it did load xp ( the blue bar does not move it stands still after a few seconds).i was able to go a restore point and go back to having no service packs but what should i do?

<p>Are 100% sure you don't have SP2 installed already?</p><p> Press the Windows key and Pause Break and read the message box that comes up.  It will say what version (including service pack) of Windows you are running.</p><p>If you do need a service pack, then click Start, Programs, Windows Update.  SP2 or 3 will be selected for you to download.</p>
