My brightness and gamma in-game affects my desktop.. it's very annoying when I go to answer an IM or browse a website. I literally am blinded by anything white as the brightness goes through the roof.I'm in windowed mode as well. This never happens on any other game I played.. even AoC or HL2.I tried setting the settings to default which works as it doesn't change brightness/gamma, but then I can't see in the game as it's way too dark in comparison to my desktop brightness. The major problem is when I crash from a memory leak and it doesn't reset my brightness/gamma to what it should be and then I have to restart my entire computer. Is there something I can do to fix this? It's driving me nuts!

Not knowing what video card you have, but you may wish to check out the ATI/NVIDIA software for gamma settings and see if also has an ability to change with the game you are playing.

Nvidia 8800GTX with 175.16 drivers.I normally would do that, but nview is a major annoyance to setup. So what I'm trying now is making a color profile with rivatuner and having it load that profile after the game launches.. then restoring back to normal.. not sure how well it's gonna work.

Let us know how it goes. I've not encountered this issue myself yet.Although ProfitUI does have a nifty little "nightvision" option which ramps up the gamma and brightness with a click of a button.

I don't have the night vision on.It seams to work, but a major problem.. see it launches the application for me with custom settings, but it turns those settings off when the application closes. Now here's the problem.. the patcher and the game are 2 different EXEs. If I launch it with the patcher.. the settings disable when the game loads.. if I launch it with the game.. it bypasses the patcher..What a nightmare.. I don't get why EQ2 is overriding system gamma/brightness.. it makes no sense.. no other game I've played does this.Edit: I also REALLY do not want to use nview as it just sits there devouring my system resources.Edit2: Found an extra option to enable inside of rivatuner that allows application detection. Works like a charm.. woohoo! No more messed up brightness when my game crashes.
