The length of the download will depend on the speed of your connection. Assuming you have broadband of some sort, 7-8 hours does seem long(though that could be normal with some DSL providers).

The most likely causes of a longer than normal download are a port forwarding issue with the router or Windows Vista blocking the download in some way. To check for a router issue you will want to bypass the router(plug your computer directly into the modem instead of through the router) and see if the issue persists. Otherwise, if you are running Windows Vista, then I would recommend following the steps listed below.

1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".8. Double click on the program launch icon.

Sometimes the Windows Vista security software can interfere with the patching progress of our games. In this situation, it might be Windows UAC (User Account Control) that is not allowing the game to patch correctly. For the purposes of security, you will only want this feature disabled for the purposes of patching and should re-enable it after the issue has been resolved.

Type msconfig in the search box on the Start Menu and press enter on your keyboard. 2. Click the tools tab in the System Configuration box. 3. Scroll down the list and highlight ‘Disable UAC' then click Launch. 4. Restart your computer. 5. Run the patcher. You can enable UAC by following the steps above but highlight ‘Enable UAC'

If this did not fix your issue, or have any further inquiries, please contact us again.

Yes there is going to be a big download. Currently I believe the full install sits around 10GB. To ease the time down a bit, cancel the download and click on PREFERENCES, you can turn off the optional downloads or change it to download while play.Dan seemed to cover the rest.
